  1. Still getting strange looks

It likely depends on when you live...we had that sort of experience several times in the early days, but I think the last time my wife or I got funny looks or such a question was probably around 2017. There are a lot of EVs around here. My first time TRYING to get attention by raising the hood...
  2. Outlet setting not staying on

I didn't see the posts about it being software either. I sounds like you've used the AC outlets before, but just to be clear: Did your AC outlets ever work, or are you just now trying them for the first time? Mine didn't work when I bought my R1S - no error messages, I just had similar behavior...

  4. Redmond Chad

    Rivian Owners Eastside (WA)

Howdy. On the "About" tab it says that it's for Eastside Seattle.
  5. Windshield replacement in Seattle (east side) area

We've used Safelite mobile service based out of the Bellevue location twice for windshield replacements. Once was over 10 years ago, once was just a few months ago with my R1S. Both times worked out great for us. My wife also had a chip repair at the Bellevue location a couple of years ago and...
  6. In search of the best hitch-mount bike rack for R1S

I also have a Mach2. No hitch extender. The mach2 sits very snugly against my R1S, but keeps my big-handlebar bike plenty far away.
  7. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

I don't have a Delta Pro 3 or Ultra; just the regular Delta Pro where you need two main units and a connector to output 240V. (The Ultra was announced 2 days after I placed my order; I think I would have preferred that) Note that with my setup, you CAN input and output 120V simultaneously. You...
  8. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

I have an Ecoflow Delta Pro 2 system - for the reasons you mention. BUT: there is one very large caveat; something you won't learn from browsing Ecoflow's site. (I learned it from someone else on these forums, and from experience). You can indeed charge at 1440W from the Rivian, and (with my...
  9. What did you replace your 20" OEM Pirelli tires with and why?

I don't drive offroad (I got the R1S mostly for towing) so as soon as I got the car I replaced the AT tires with Michelin Defender LTX M/S (LT275/65 R20 126R E1 BSW). As noted above, there are now newer versions of that tire. These are more efficient, smoother, quieter, and should last a lot...
  10. A Tale of Two Windshield Replacements - Service Center vs. Safelite

I almost never use ADAS in my Rivian, so I can't tell if it made a difference or not. (ADAS doesn't work while towing, and most non-towing Rivian trips are very short)
  11. A Tale of Two Windshield Replacements - Service Center vs. Safelite

After a 6-week wait, Rivian Bellevue (WA) did my calibration today...for $120+tax. They say it takes 0.6 hours, and they have a $200 shop rate.
  12. The first (and only) Aero Spoke Inserts for Rivian R1T / R1S 20" All-Terrain Wheels!

I was going from Missoula to Great Falls - those are the places I charged. BTW I've had my aero inserts for going on two years now, and everything has been fine - they don't rattle, haven't fallen out, etc. And I've been content with real-world efficiency consistently at least matching what the...
  13. The first (and only) Aero Spoke Inserts for Rivian R1T / R1S 20" All-Terrain Wheels!

That's a good point; battery temps definitely affect efficiency - although the effect should decrease as the trip length increases and temps equalize. My tests (see post 215) were about 116 miles each, and my battery temps should have been very similar for both runs as I hadn't just charged...
  14. Vehicle Wakes and Makes Suspension Noise While Locked

My 23 R1S isn't locked at home (it's in the garage), but recently it started making noises that sound like the suspension every time I go out in the garage with my phone.
  15. A Tale of Two Windshield Replacements - Service Center vs. Safelite

Yes. As far as I know it will still kinda mostly work, but you don't want to rely on it as it might not be accurate. Which is kind of a big deal for ADAS; so the official recommendation is to not use it until you get the recalibration done.
  16. Not a joke...4.5 months to get a service appt in LA?!?!?

My windshield cracked recently, and I got a 3rd-party replacement. I asked Rivian to recalibrate it...and the first appointment is 6 weeks away. That's still frustrating, but definitely positive progress as my first appointment (in 2023, noted earlier in this thread) was 6 months out.
  17. A Tale of Two Windshield Replacements - Service Center vs. Safelite

Other than the "surprise!" $40 recycling fee, Safelite was fantastic to deal with. Reasonably priced, very easy to schedule, very available, they arrived on time, clearly explained what they were doing, and the new windshield looks great. Now I need Rivian to recalibrate. I tried scheduling an...
  18. A Tale of Two Windshield Replacements - Service Center vs. Safelite

My R1S got hit by a rock this morning...there's now an 8" crack in the upper right that goes from the right edge to the top edge, so I need to get the windshield replaced. Safelite will come to me for free and replace it in my garage. They have appointments as early as tomorrow (Saturday)...
  19. Nice Review R1S vs Model X

It's true that not everyone has heard of the NACS network opening up, and that is a big change. But it's also true that there's an awful lot of NACS stations that are still Tesla-specific. If I look at available Tesla stations in my area from my Rivian, I only see a fraction of the stations...
