Those recommendations also have a time component--as in long term freezer storage--think 3 to 6 months or more. Aka long term. Coolers like this are not meant for that kind of use.
If you don't mind saying, which model? Several Rivian owners have run powered coolers without issue, so I would be curious about the specs on yours. From the models I have looked at it seems like the ones with borderline performance and efficiency do seem to struggle, Your being in South...
*** UPDATE ****
Reservations for the first run of W[=0===0=]TR are now closed. Thank you to all the group members that have followed and supported this project from the beginning--just over 100 of you have placed reservations--which was a bit of a surprise as there were only 98 signups =).
I...
I'm working on testing the Slide Out Utility Tray slide mechanism now to make sure it performs as expected. If that goes to plan it's targeted to ship at about the same time as the water tank--mid to late May.
The slide out Camp Kitchen uses the same slide mechanism so it will be the next...
I checked Marsha's list and your email address is there and it shows you were sent the reservation email so you should be all set. If for any reason you're not please let me know as reservations will be closing Monday Feb 20th.
If you are asking about the 12 gal frunk tank with sprayer, the reservation deposit email went out Thursday with a target ship date of mid to late May. If you didn't get the email you can email Marsha HERE.
If you're asking about the Camp Kitchen, yes you will be contacted when that project is...
I am working on testing the slide out utility tray slide rail mechanism now. If that goes to plan the Utility Tray should ship at or near the same time the Frunk Tank does--mid to late May. As always keep in mind that there could be unexpected delays--fast is good but right is better =)
Just to be clear for those who may not have been following the project, the deposit is only 50% or $160 and we won't be collecting the other 50% until the tanks are packaged and ready to ship.
That's probably a good idea.
I am thrilled to report that we have crossed the 100 signup threshold for the W[=0===0]TR 12 Gallon Frunk Tank with Sprayer project and have opened up reservations with a targeted delivery date of mid to late May.
Marsha has sent out the reservation deposit email...
*** UPDATE ***
We are going to start taking orders and collecting deposits for the 12 gallon Frunk Tank project within the next 10 days or so. You should have received an update email by now that listed some optional items that we are thinking of including in the box. Please be aware that if...
Yeah but one plug is really enough as the cooler wouldn't be running constantly--much like your refrigerator at home--so you could just swap power to the water tank when you need it.
The water tank uses very little power at 1.5 amps. Total power draw for it is 25 watts. To put that in perspective, the battery in your truck would run it for 225 days or 7 and a half months. That is long enough to pump over a million gallons of water--think one and a half Olympic sized...
We have. My feeling after talking to a lot of people and doing some research is that Kickstarter doesn't really add anything to the process except increased costs. By that I mean you still have to go out and post on all the forums and social media to get people over to the kickstarter page...
Rivian stopped including the plug. It can be added back without TOO much trouble as the wiring is still there. Or if you are wanting the 12 gallon tank it can be run off of a small inexpensive rechargable battery available from Amazon. Smaller than your phone. We may be including them with...
We need to get to 150 sign-ups to start production on the cooler. We are currently at about 90.
If you;re interested you can sign up HERE.
We are about to start production on the 12 gallon frunk tank and shortly after the slide out utility tray. My hope is that once people see those projects...
Thanks to everyone that reached out to offer their R1T for test fitting the 12 gallon water tank--it is very much appreciated!
Jeff met with Snomad this evening and everything went well--the tank fits both the R1T and R1S like it was born there =)
I am hammering out all the final production...
It looks like Duck is out of the country until mid January, so if there is an R1T owner in the Portland area that wants to help out with a test fit of the frunk tank test mule, please PM me or Jeff so we can schedule something. You can check out Jeff's new R1S and maybe have lunch or something =)
