Since the update I don't think I've made it through an entire song without at least one "skip" where the music stops for a second or two before resuming.
They probably pulled it because it's a turd sandwich. Trying to improve audio quality and they actually made it significantly worse.
I'm assuming the best and brightest are working on R2 software and the people working on R1 updates are the JAGs.
So far, it seems like they somehow made Apple Music worse, to the point that it's almost unusable. Music is "skipping" like a CD with a bad scratch in it. It's like they reduced the cache or buffer rates.
Connectivity is fine and it's the same route I normally drive with 0 similar issues prior...
My 2023 R1S does not do this or anywhere close to it. I'll usually get 2-3 minutes above 200kw in the 20-30% SoC range, even as the only person charging at a RAN station, before it starts to derate down to 180 or so. Once it starts getting close to 70% SoC it starts to drop off below 150 so that...
This is where I'm at as well. I'd much rather Rivian work on sustaining peak charge speed further into the curve than having a bigger battery. 210kwh peak is fine if they can find a way to maintain that peak for more than a minute or two.
I wonder if the confusion is that the testing was done with pre-production "launch" vehicles which for some reason didn't incorporate the heat pump and were like the test mules we saw as opposed to "Launch Edition" saleable units.
Trading 2023 R1S for an R2 as soon as it's available.
Major driver is out of warranty repair costs for R1 but I also prefer the size of the R2 and don't really "need" the 3rd row.
This is why I'm not a fan of the "road show" and would much rather they just have 1-2 at each Rivian Space full time.
This event seems catered to the general public, not the early adopter current R1 owners who will be opting for a LE.
I've owned an R1 for nearly 4 years now and have used the frunk button to open or close the frunk more than key, app, and main display combined.
My hands must be a veritable petri dish.
Yes, but color and wheel spec are the only variables for LE so they will likely batch build based on those variables and then make them available in the shop. Rivian learned their lesson about trying to match orders with buyers when they have a massive backlog of preorders, I don't expect them...
No, they don't. Launch edition vehicles will likely be very limited in options so I expect them to be shop only for at least the first few months. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even offer "configured" builds for R2 at all.
Except for the 100% tariff currently set against Chinese made EVs. They'd have to take a much bigger loss and would be paying a hefty sum to Uncle Sam in the process.
Japanese xenophobia from the 1980s is very different from the current wariness towards China, and it's frankly somewhat...
I think RJ or Jeff talked about CD in the video with Kyle and specifically mentioned managing to keep a CD of .3 in spite of the boxy design of R2 but I don't think there's been anything published.
Syntax is important here. I specifically said "release press" not "press release."
"Release press" as in, all of the press coverage at the launch event when the information was allowed by Rivian to be released as opposed to a "press release" which is an official statement from Rivian for the...
Last time I took a vehicle to a dealership for service, they tried to tune me up for over $8k of services and flat out lied about the amount of brake wear I had. Stealerships indeed.
It was referenced in several of the videos, but the R2 site specifically states a 330 mile EPA estimated range and we know the battery size, so the rest is just math.
