^ it uses the motors to heat the battery when you use scheduled pre-condition and have enabled the option to pull power from the EVSE.
The info I was given directly from Rivian is that it will heat the battery most when the "Pull from charger to maintain range" is selected.. They also didn't comment if regular preheat would heat the battery.
I have confirmed that this works (picture posted earlier) in cold (28*) temps to heat...
Ok, hopefully this will provide some validity to what I was saying.
This morning, I had a scheduled preconditioning. It's set to use the wall charger as necessary. It did charge the battery a little but it also warmed up the motors. So it's clearly using the motors to heat the battery like they...
Not a fix, but in my R1T I can just tap the lights as I'm putting my kids in. Is that something you can do? It's just up above the door by the handle...
I think I have the same issue and I took my truck in for service about it. They kept it for about a week while the technicians would try to recreate and determine what may be causing it. Eventually they came to the conclusion that it's related to regen and Hold/ABS when traveling at very low...
Some yes's and some no's?!?
It sounds you just want to be grumpy about this. I too would like a button, but there's no "myth" of what you're stating. It works.
*Editing for the clarity of what the official statement was...
I have been given the official statement of this after I asked:
I don't know how much it will warm up, but some.
Yesterday it was 29 or 30 overnight, and my truck battery was 35. scheduled pre-conditioning and not plugged...
Use the pass-through grommets behind the front plastics of the bed to pass into the gear tunnel and use the 12v there?
Or go into the cab of the truck using the other passthroughs that come through behind the back seats and grab 12v somewhere in there?
The thing about pricing is someone may stumble on that in 2 years, and the pricing would be VASTLY different... so they've still gotta look it up themselves... This is a good view into what they'd be getting (minus any changes made there too) and they can look up the price and decide if it's...
Minus the Rivian, this is like a picture from my childhood! :D We used to stack our F350 with as many as we could keep tossing up... (it was just from field to barn, but still...)
Thanks! I was guessing that it was the mpp setup (or I guess custom similar...)
You've basically tricked it into making high something you can drive above 45mph.
Those tires look really good though...
I'm following because I'm super excited to hear how the bigger tires work for you, for efficiency and ride...
I know you're dirtcom, and you *SELL* the hitch mount, but does the larger tire even fit in the spare compartment? :)
thanks for being a guinea pig on this one!
Oh man, My wife has plans for some wire hoops like this, I have a feeling I'll be following suit soon! I'll have to get myself a yellow safety jacket! ;)
