Gen1 here but I don't tihink they'll ever catch Tesla in any aspect. 2020-2021 M3 with HW3 FSD is probably better than what Gen2 can do now. I recently drove a 2024 M3 with FSD and it was so awesome and smooth. I'd happily pay $100 a month for the FSD that Tesla offers.

Had a R1T loaner with it once and was blown away vs my R1S with elevation. Sure it's a smaller interior but was sad to hand it back to them. They definitely got rid of it to save on costs.

Let them try the current FSD once and they'll change their mind. I just drove a new Model Y with FSD and my mind was blown. Granted I'm in a Gen 1 but I don't see Rivian catching up to Tesla anytime soon. They just don't have the deep bench of talent at this point and may never get there.
