Wow, those sipes down the middle seem like winter tires. I've been pretty happy with the stock Pirelli MS tires in their first snow and ice, but wouldn't mind going down to 20" tires for winter if I ever put the Michellin PS5 on the 22" rims.
This is nearly exactly what I want to do. Can you share any more about the installation process? Who did you use? I'm only about 45 minutes away from you. So, I'm sure they'd cover my area too.
Yeah, selling back to DTE is hardly worth much because even peak of the day, they barely give you more than what it costs at the low if you're on the TOU plan. If you have solar, I think the better option is to charge your EV if you're generating solar power and your home batteries are nearly...
Apparently V2L is only one directional. So, I wonder if we're actually looking for V2H, or similar.
I think most of the solutions will do the Vehicle DC to AC conversion either inside the vehicle or in the bi-directional charger on the wall. I was imagining that one would just have the DC...
I think they repackage some other manufacturers HW and make their own SW. I looked at this a lot about a year ago. But I'm also waiting for information about Rivian's V2L before pursuing it further. This space is still developing to quickly, there is no rush to get in. It'll keep getting better...
Two lost souls. :)
I would do the install of the electrical stuff myself. I feel like the codes for that aren't too difficult. But, my time has value. So, it'd be nice to find a professional you could hook it all up ready for solar and get it approved by DTE.
This is basically what I'm looking for as well. I don't care about the smart panel. I don't have power outages very often, so I don't mind a little bit of manual switching of things. But, it'd be nice. I'd want a whole home backup with decent attached battery, then use the Rivian as a generator...
Good point. I'm more likely to use the front ones. My kids are still in car seats. So, they wouldn't be able to reach the rear hooks with their hands or heads.
I was thinking of using something like this. It's an all-in-one inverter (not batteries or solar panels).

The generator input is AC. So, I was thinking of using that connected to the...
The first time I used the washer fluid with my family in the car, my daughter in the 3rd row noticed and asked what that bad smell is. So, they don't like it. I need to put it on recirculate when I want to clean my windows. :)
I don't think this is how it works. The tire footprint will always adjust to match what the car weighs depending on PSI. So, you'd be measuring how much weight it IS carrying not how much it could be carrying.
Toyo does share their inflation charts, and you can see that the LT/E tires need more...
I used online TurboTax and I put in the correct VIN, but it wouldn't let me select 2025. So, I just downloaded the PDF and modified the 2022 to 2025, then printed it out. I thought about just striking through the 2022 and putting 2025 with my initials. But I thought it'd probably be better just...
Maybe a year ago, I did an estimate assuming linear load index ratings vs PSI, which isn't true. But, I recall it was near 60PSI just to get to the rated level for Rivian. So, anything less than like 55 PSI is definitely below the safety load level. Maybe try 65 PSI for a while to see how it...
With my Tesla, I noticed that if I turned the HVAC on and off, that seemed to be more efficient than just keeping it on all the time. I haven't tested that on the freeway in my R1S yet, but driving around town, I get a lot better efficiency when the HVAC is off. As long as it's a short drive...
TLDR; Turn on 3D sound, and use a preset of your choice.
It does seem much better. I tried my DIY tuning app and with both 3D and Dynamic Off, it seemed a little weak in the high end (over 1k). So, I can see why beeglowbot tuned it like that. However, if you turn on 3D sound, then it matches...
I wonder what about it failed. It seems really weird that it knows where you are on the map, but still refuses to engage. I wonder what types of sensors they have in the roof antenna. Did they share any of this information?
This is why I want the new Michelin S5 summer tires. The stopping distance may have been short enough to avoid this all together.
There are roads (highway, not subdivision) around me that don't have a marked speed limit and have home driveways on them. By default that means it's 55 mph, but I...
