  1. Should Rivian Follow Fisker to a Dealership Model?

This is not allowed by almost every State in the Union. OEM-Dealership relationship is highly regulated by States.
  2. Alex on Autos 2024 EV of the Year: RIVIAN R1S! ? (beat Mercedes EQS)

I am sure that is the consensus here. Until, Alex gives a Rivian a bad review. LOL
  3. Rivian misses Q4 delivery estimates, but beats 2023 annual production forecast

Rivian prices are higher in Canada that just a straight currency conversion. Rivian should lower prices to comparable US prices. Rivian opened up a service center in Germany recently. Rivian should open sales in Australia too. Opening new markets is preferable to price cuts in the USA. It...
  4. Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche Finally Commit To Using The NACS

EA is not a subsidiary of VW. It is a separate company that was entirely owned by VW Group. VW sold a 10% stake in EA to Siemens. They are still looking for investors and to lower their stake.
  5. Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche Finally Commit To Using The NACS

Stellantis wants to see all the pioneering companies take the arrows. Then deliver a BEV to North America in 2025 or 26. Genius? More likely boneheadly stupid.
  6. Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche Finally Commit To Using The NACS

Charging Networks don't need to change the type of charger, just the connector. There are more networks than Supercharger and EA. EVgo and their partnership with GM. ChargePoint. Greenlots. Flo. Mercedes is getting into the game. There is the yet unnamed network started by 7 major OEMs...
  7. 'Internal rumors' from my mobile service tech (800V, LFP, new quad motor variant & more!)

Tesla is providing adapters. So are third party manufactures. Tesla might/probably will require you buy from your vehicle manufacture or Tesla to try to prevent cheap Chinese ^**&#W from catching on fire at Tesla Superchargers. I don't know if Tesla will be able to prevent say a Ford BEV from...
  8. Lucid per car loss is crazy

The "loss per vehicle" metric is dumb for an automotive startup.
  9. R1S demand slowing down?

The update is to lower cost. Doesn't necessarily mean a price drop or better value for the customer. Or even better specifications. Then again if I were CEO I would wait to announce that.
  10. Lucid Gravity Reveal

R1S and Gravity are at the opposite ends of the 3 row electric SUV market. Little real cross shoppers though many may claim to be cross shopping. Lucid is more efficient with longer range, more room in the 3rd row, easier ingress and egress and offers leather seats. Rivian has genuine off...
  11. R1S may be (far) out-selling Model X?

On Tesla's website it says you can get any Model 3,Y or S delivered by the end of the year. Model X you may have to wait till February.
  12. R1S may be (far) out-selling Model X?

In California these are the Top 15 selling plugins so far this year. Model X at #8 with 7,032 registrations and R1S at #11 with 3882 registrations.
  13. New 2025 Ram and Ramcharger PHEV Hybrid revealed

Strongly disagree. There is a large number of people willing to go EV or PHEV/EREV but want same traditional styling and traditional interiors offered by the legacy OEMs. People that want all new will simply go with an all new pure BEV automaker. IMO the ~8k Ford Lightnings sitting on...
  14. New 2025 Ram and Ramcharger PHEV Hybrid revealed

They are not bringing back a full size 2 door SUV. They are calling their PHEV/EREV full size pickup a Ramcharger.
  15. AI Concepts for future Rivians

Rivian Purist? That didn't take long. LOL.
  16. Rumor: Tri-motor Cybertruck $98,990 starting price ?

Not even these reservation holders. You have the option to pass until you see it. There are more than enough people WILLING to buy the CT without seeing the production spec that Tesla doesn't have to strong arm anybody.
  17. Rumor: Tri-motor Cybertruck $98,990 starting price ?

No test drives for Cybetruck is a non issue. If you don't like it you can flip for a very nice profit. Or even if you do like it. By the time you won't be able to flip for a profit Tesla will offer test drives.
  18. Honda says making cheap electric vehicles is too hard, ends deal with GM

No they shouldn't and there is no reason for Honda/Acura dealers not to service ultium based Honda/Acura vehicles. Why reject the revenue? GM will continue to make the parts.
  19. BMW to adopt NACS / access to Tesla SC

PiF's backing of Lucid seems more solid than Bezos backing of Rivian. The Saudis really want to be in the EV business. I give Lucid and Rivian about equal chance of surviving. Even though being in the off-road Pickup and SUV market plus the commercial delivery van market offers much better...
