That's the way it has been with almost every consumer device in history, and certainly automobiles ... until Tesla. When I bought my Rivian, this was my exact attitude. The features were what they were the day I took delivery. Be satisfied with that or don't buy it. Any later improvements are...
Hotfixes address specific known issues/problems/bugs. Updates more broadly add new or revise existing functionality. This fits the definition of a hotfix, not an update.
"they could have had it all".
Producing a larger vehicle that would never sell in quantities to be profitable is not "having it all".
It's highly likely that they did market research to arrive at the proper size for the R1S. Yes, it handles the Rubicon but that's not why they chose the size...

Excerpts:
I reported the problem to Kia and my local dealer wasn’t able to initially replicate it until I was able to record the issue on my phone while charging on a fast DC charger. The car would drop to a 0kW charge rate at 82...
So true. 3D printing forums/groups are particularly bad. A noob posts a question they could have easily found a gazillion discussions about ("Should I use Glue Stick?") and then a free for all of criticism, bad advice and counterpoint posts follows. I rarely visit or post in 3D forums anymore.
As mentioned above, it's most likely a bad sensor and not a wiring fault. I can't speak for Rivian, but most crash sensors have power, ground and and a digital output signal that indicates when a crash occurs. If the wiring was bad, it should indicate a fault, not a crash.
When I was a teen and in college, I worked a summer job in construction, and I've done home woodworking projects most of my life so I was pretty comfortable with the window replacement, and the previous trim work style made it super easy to remove the trim and old windows. I got reconstruction...
It does some physical control. I tried "Open Liftgate" today. RA responded to verify the request. I forget exactly what it said, but it was something like "Please confirm you want to open the liftgate" . I said yes, and it opened. It also closes with no verification request.
Has it warmed up environmentally, contributing to the heat retention in the cable?
Is the Tesla charging at a higher rate? Higher rate, more heat.
All electrical wiring is rated at a minimum of 60C / 140F operating temperature. If you are charging at 40A+ it's not unusual for the wiring to get...
Yeah, people get exposure to frontier models and expect that to be the standard. That's not how it works. "Claude can do XYZ so why can't Rivian?"
Just guessing - it appears Rivian may be training their own model from the start, so those things that people already expect to be "baked in" (chat...
it still fullfills one need for some of us. I want to listen to live football or baseball when I'm out on my boat or in the car and I have no cell coverage in the "wilderness" of central Pennsylvania, and no AM/FM coverage of the game. Who cares about compression then?
Human Sensory Class 101. Different people have different levels of visual, tactile, olfactory and taste acuity. The same goes for hearing. Why is that a surprise to you? That's what makes us all different and not robots.
