What I mean is that Tesla's NACS port has always been on the driver side rear for all of their vehicles, thus that's the standard that Supercharger stations are designed for. When you back in to a supercharger (as all Teslas must) driver rear is the ideal position.
I'm not speculating where...
NACS port is on the driver side anyway, it's just on the rear instead of the front. I wouldn't mind it moving to the rear quarter panel on the drivers side, but I would mind having to walk all the way around to the other side of the car to plug in at home every day.
I live in the desert and park in a garage but isn’t this the point of the heater coil at the bottom of the windshield? Can’t you just hit defrost from the app and have it melt the ice and snow off the windshield and wipers before you go out to the car? And bonus everything is warm and comfortable?
Turning the Surround completely off disables the speakers along the top of the door frame and seems like a waste. My EQ settings are actually very similar to yours just based on my ear though, but I usually just go for a smooth curve and don't have the big drop at 1k. And I left surround in...
Honestly my biggest complaint with the Rivian Nav is how robotic and unpleasant the voice guidance sounds. Sometimes when navigating to a new place I like to have voice prompts on so I don't have to look down so often, but they sound like someone just lifted the .wav files from a 15 year old...
Can someone put together some odds on a betting site somewhere? CT outsells R1T in 2024, CT outsells R1T in 2025, CT sells more than 100,000 units in under 5 years, etc.
I would love to see everyone put their money where their mouth is, so the other side can gloat when the obvious outcome...
I bought a set of the official Rivian bars, put them on once, admired them, took them off, and then realized I will probably never use them. They've been sitting in the corner of my garage ever since. If either of you are willing to drive up to Los Angeles I'd sell them for $500.
Source? Most GPS units in cars are only accurate to a couple meters when in motion - not accurate enough to declare a specific lane at highway speed.
The Driver+ cameras are different than the Gear Guard cameras. You don't have access to the Driver+ cameras so you wouldn't know that they...
On the contrary- until they make a quad with Enduro motors (“Ascent”?) they earn more per vehicle on the duals. Right now they would prefer to sell more duals than quads from a strictly financial perspective.
Ever since they started talking about the dual motor I've assumed they were planning to phase out the quad once they finished up their purchase contracts with Bosch and hammered out all the details on the Enduro motors. Quad motor is fun but it introduces a ton of engineering issues that are...
Proof that it’s got nothing to do with the Ford’s torque:
Have the Rivian pull while the Ford just sits there with its brakes fully locked and it still won’t move.
You *could* but it wouldn’t make financial sense. For simple parts from China in my experience the break-even point is around 300 pieces where injection molding is cheaper than 3D printing or milling, and you get a *much* stronger and better-looking part.
As a youth, when someone starts giving me directions that include turns and landmarks I just politely smile and stop listening until they’re done, then say “great! oh, and what’s the address again?” and follow my GPS to it.
30% of the time they’ll caution “don’t use the address, GPS always...
I love the look of the aero caps, but I'm an "EV guy" and this is my first truck, so I also love that all the "truck guys" take the aero caps off so I get to have a good looking truck and also be one-of-a-kind on the road! :CWL:
In all the battery electric vehicles I've ever driven, the suspension in the Polestar 2 was second only to the Taycan imo. Lightyears ahead of the rest of the competition for sporty refined driving characteristics (including the R1.) The audio system was also leaps and bounds nicer than the...
It’s just a connector. If Musk changes his, the non-Tesla networks like EA and RAN etc will continue using the standard NACS plug and we’ll be no worse off than we are right now with no access to superchargers. There’s still going to plenty of charging networks that Musk doesn’t control, they’re...
Dozens of times (every time, in fact) in three different vehicles, to be precise.
You did step one of enrollment successfully, but you made a user error at step two and accidentally started a session at the wrong station, which meant the next person to charge at that station got free charging...
