  1. What if my cat falls asleep in the gear tunnel?

Apologies if this has been covered, but: Has anyone else noticed that the fold out panel for the gear tunnel essentially blocks the user's approach to the tunnel? It would be cool if it could swivel out of the way, like an airplane tray table . . . but limited access to the long tunnel raises...
  2. What will we learn 5/17-5/23?

If Gideon doesn't do the interior walkthrough as well, I'll lose MY sh!t. How am I supposed to reference the dimensions without his extremely average height?? Remember when reservation holders were promised hats and other goodies? I bet a big glossy photo-brochure with full Specs is already in...
  3. What will we learn 5/17-5/23?

Ha ha ha! As video of Biden test-driving the electric F-150 goes viral. Rivian either explodes with volume deliveries or prepares to watch one-time investor, Ford, simply leap-frog and crush the once darling start-up. Ouch.
  4. What will we learn 5/17-5/23?

I think we are now at the stage where we are just looking for a picture of RJ holding a newspaper with today's date. :) All kidding aside however, there is some major goodwill/credibility erosion taking place right now. Very puzzling/concerning that Rivian believes this is the best course of...
  5. What will we learn 5/17-5/23?

Totally agree with Cohall and Peashooter. We are talking about a business reportedly valued at ~$28B. This isn't a "forum participant attitude" issue, this is a serious customer relations issue. Rivian deserves all the vacuum-filliing parody it gets at this point. Note that there is no concern...
  6. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

And the May 19th Ford reveal/distraction is a good opportunity for a disappointing status update/delay announcement: lose casual reservation holders who would drop for less expensive F-150ev, retain some hardcore fans . . . and push substantive production (and IPO) to 2022 . . . all the while...
  7. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

I am just working from a few basic premises/principles: 1. Rivian is stating June deliveries (and it's now mid-May). 2. (Car) Manufacturers do not tend to hide successful implementation, they tend to show it off (you know, to generate demand). 3. Rivian is not showing successful implementation...
  8. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

I'll simply "second" that basic disclosures are not "hype." That is very lame spin for, "Thank you for your deposits. Somehow, with deliveries next month, we still don't have a production version to show you, or for that matter, any other relevant status updates. But here are some nice pics of...
  9. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Customer Service is now just a recording of Dan Akroyd barking, "No trucks, parts!"
  10. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Believe it or not, the application/registration for ' OVERLAND ADVENTURE VEHICLES ' was abandoned at the USPTO as of April 9, 2021. Race you for it!
  11. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

All the while avoiding the misfortune of branding our product "Air."
  12. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Concur. Just hope this team doesn't have to form a new company to start production for an all electric truck, but let me know if we start hiring. . .
  13. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

I'll just second the sentiment that at two weeks before the month (June) in which deliveries are supposed to begin, out-dated website photos and disclaimers about pricing/specs (as opposed to confirmed pricing/specs) just seems odd.
  14. Sizing up the R1T - Exterior dimensions, specs, details and updates!

Hmmm. Were there any last minute changes to the exterior specs in the latest reveal? (Answer: Yes.) All your arguments apply equally well to exterior images. The facts (not theories) remain: (i) Rivian continues to reserve the right to alter production version from previously disclosures; and...
  15. Sizing up the R1T - Exterior dimensions, specs, details and updates!

Here's my theory on lack of interior images and details: Large unshielded digital screens positioned high on the dash are very susceptible to glare, rendering them unusable. I wouldn't be surprised if Rivian has had to make the difficult decision to reconfigure their dash/screen layout.
  16. Sizing up the R1T - Exterior dimensions, specs, details and updates!

Ha ha ha! That's why the Twitter Feed hasn't been updated and "next week's" big reveal event hasn't happened; not the oversight in the bed overview. Suitable disclaimers associated with security cables are as old as cables themselves. . . .
  17. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Tons of covered/sealed storage, power outlets and air compressor -- for the win. Good features and agree w/ Mtnbikedude that interior details are next key.
  18. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Yeah, what has really alarmed me, besides the on-going lack of details, was the official video with the producer of A Long Way Up: no images of the front interior and the panel gaps on that truck looked huge (note especially gaps around frunk). Rivian better be preparing a big positive surprise...
  19. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

I think current frustration is well-deserved. Posting official communications with statements such as "more to come next week" are irresponsible in the context of sophisticated customers looking to spend $80k on a new product. Such vagueness (they couldn't say which day next week?) shows...
