Okay, problem solved. If you have the Auto-unlock in PARK setting configured to "Keep locked", the frunk, gear tunnel and tonneau along with all of the doors will remain locked. I thought this setting only applied to the doors, but I tested it and confirmed it applies to all exterior access.
Anyone else have trouble opening the frunk using the physical button after you park? I came back from a grocery run, put the truck in park, got out, pressed the button to get my groceries and...nothing. No response from the button. I used my phone to lock and unlock the truck and then the...
Interesting to learn this may be a factory option. Given how the PPF is applied to the gear tunnel door, I would prefer a custom PPF that wraps around the edges.
I never received an email when my accessories shipped. I had to reach out to my guide to inquire and that's when he shared the tracking info for the charger, which is scheduled for delivery on the same day as my truck. The other accessories will be delivered 3 weeks later, but no tracking info...
I don't recall there being a timeline enforced to complete your 8 steps. Your guide should be able to manage the delivery timing for you. I wouldn't fret about it taking 10 days for your financing to come together.
For those of you who financed a part of your purchase, what mileage was recorded in your sale contract? Mine shows 100 miles, which sounds like a ton of miles for new vehicle, but also sounds like a nice round number to plop into a form that will allow them some wiggle room.
I've seen some evidence to suggest this is true. I've also seen screenshots of quite a few trucks in the R1 Shop with 22's. So maybe the 20" AT's are just in shorter supply. My truck has 22" shoes.
Seems like there are a lot of people in this delivery window that are getting trucks. Makes me wonder if the preorder conversion rate is low or if Rivian has seriously ramped up production.
First of all, congrats on your delivery date.
I'm still puzzled by the advanced VIN number and early delivery date. I see much lower VINs that are still in production, including my own.
Thanks for the input. I suppose I'll do what intuitively seems like the right thing for me to do and take it straight in for PPF. I just hate the idea of waiting this long for the truck only to hand it over to someone else for 3 days for paint protection.
Is front-end PPF essential if you want to keep your finish looking good? It seems like the flat nose would collect a lot of chips, bugs and road grime. Would be great to hear some owner's thoughts on this.
