I like a lot of things about the R2, but my favorite feature of the R2 happens to be one shared by a number of vehicles now.... Not having to go to the gas station again.
I want to create a countdown calendar for the next week.... but it'd suck pretty hard if my email inbox had nothing at the end of it.
"three days left!"
"two days left!"
"it's tomorrow!"
*crickets*
Yeah, I'd be upset. So I'll just go on pretending like I have no idea what day it is...
I WANT MY R2 NOW!!!!
Sorry about that.... I figured I'd shout it out to the [digital] world of people who might understand the feeling.
The wife is quite tired of hearing that from me, and the cats seem to only pay attention when I have food with me, which makes me suspect it isn't the R2...
Probably, but I've never been stopped for it. You'll see some cars without plates at all (and no temp paper either) driving around... doesn't seem to be much of an issue around here.
In the same vein as the folks saying wait...
I figure if I have a lot of issues during the regular warranty period, I will. If I don't, I won't.
I never have before, but that's mostly because I did stuff to the vehicle that voided warranty anyway. All the parts I would upgrade, modify, or...
I'm getting the 20".... but it's an easy choice for me since I like that style better and actually want it for off-roading (non-snow). The 19"s that come on the Standard trim look pretty good to me too. I may wish to trade with someone for those at some point. Then I could get even beefier tires.
The Forest Edge interior scheme looks interesting. I'm surprised by all of the comments about favoring a sand/light brown interior though. Subaru likes putting beige in their vehicles and it always bugged me. I had to go out of my way to get a dark interior for both of my Foresters. I wondered...
So if they are batching by location and Service Center proximity, would they be sending to the SC's with the most reservations around them? If that's the case, could I convince a bunch of you Californians into moving here to Las Vegas within the next two weeks?
Although I still want to know...
So what is considered "near" a Service center? The wife and I are wondering. I'm thinking we live near a Service Center and she's trying to crush my dreams by pointing out that it's clear across town....
Agreed. Speaking from experience, dirt/dust can really block off visibility... This includes rear facing cameras. The rear wiper is what allows you to see behind you in those conditions.
I've been planning to get an R2 ever since it was revealed. We would have an R1 if we could afford it... We've been cutting spending and saving up for the past two years just to afford the Launch Edition R2, and it's still a huge financial decision.
As for the Subaru (Toyota) EV offerings...
Haha, I do too, even though I don't have one yet. When I see a Rivian on the road, I get excited, smile and say "Hi Rivian buddy!" and my wife reminds me that no Rivian driver out there is going to notice/acknowledge me since I'm in a Subaru Forester... then I'm sad again.
The actual "place in line" wasn't really important to the point I was trying to make. The point was that it didn't matter how early I made a reservation because every R1 owner bumps me (and all other non-R1 owners) back in line.
I do appreciate the insight, but unless Tesla did the "priority"...
