The first time my vehicle would charge and not report the correct charge state after unplugging. The second time I didn't have signs of any 12V problems, no exceptional vampire drain.
Was this your first 12V replacement? What sw version was your R1S on? I heard that 2024.31.01 was causing a lot of 12V deaths and that 2024.35.0 "fixed" it.
It takes 1 days to 3 days. I never received the 12V warnings and both times my vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed to the service center. First time was August of last year and the second time was last Monday.
This reads like a ChatGPT response from the prompt "Write a few paragraphs about why Rivian jeopardizes customer safetyin search of profit by using a homebrew navigation system"
After the 2024.35.0 update my navigation has been broken, pinned to my home address (GPS not available). It was fixed with a vehicle reset and then came back after two days. Weirdly enough my location based garage door opener still works when I approach my garage and I have a service ticket open...
Congrats on joining the 12V failure club. I have had 3 12V failures in my 30 months of ownership and have had 0 warnings that there is a 12V problem. My secondary 12V first failed in August 2023 which left it in turtle mode. My primary and secondary 12V failed last Monday. My truck had blank...
I've had both front dampers replaced on mine and had the same warning. Though my truck would not automatically raise in that state and I had to toggle the ride height in order to get to from kneel to standard ride height.
I reported last October and my appointment was in February if that helps.
My truck is now back in my hands. The secondary 12V had an internal short which they replaced under warranty and I was told there is no charge for the tow and rental.
I still don't understand the CYA language especially when I clearly didn't drain the HV pack and let the 12V die.
I was just at the service center and they reiterated what the Rivian Support line said - I still might be responsible for the cost of the repair even though the HV battery didn't die if there is a non warranty -able part which didn't make any sense to me.
Hey All,
TLDR - Always Keep Your R1T Plugged In
I haven't posted in a while since I've been generally happy with my R1T. However I am pretty incensed right now and wanted to let you all know about my experience.
I left my vehicle unattended for roughly 8 days, from July 25 until today August...
I haven't seen such a drastic efficiency hit. I'm also on 20 ATs and in the Eastside. Over the past 190 miles, since I plug in every night, I've seen anywhere from 1.87 at worst to 2.63 mi/kwh.
