Update - was able to take my truck into the San Diego SC, and instead of immediately replacing the 12v battery, they had me drop it off for diagnosis. Strong suspicion that they may not have enough batteries on hand to swap out.
A few things I noticed:
1. The SC said they had a few other...
4 1/2 days from first symptom until battery replacement needed, even while plugged in to maintain state of charge. Then when calling service, I was hung up on twice before reaching someone. This is No Bueno! At least this qualifies for a emergency appointment…we’ll see
Same with the widget. I can tell the truck isn’t sleeping when the door handle lights are on almost constantly, and when I open the door, the screens turn on without delay. In addition to the excessive vampire drain.
Wow…I’m experiencing the same issue that started Friday evening. I’ll get a short flash, followed by a longer flash of the tail lights. The truck never goes to sleep. Service ticket already in, but no service appointments in San Diego until September.
I wish the San Diego SC actually gave loaners…2nd time in for service, and they immediately sent me to Enterprise rental car. They are swamped with repairs and I don’t expect mine back anytime s00n. Last time it took 4 weeks ?
My R1T just went in for service for the 2nd time in 6 months. 1st with air suspension and infotainment issues, and this past weekend, it stopped charging after 5 hours and gave a service immediately code. My patience is wearing thin...
Pausing Georgia is the best decision Rivian has made. Save the cash, and utilize Normal Ill to its full capacity. Get the R2 & R3 production up and running in the factory you already have, then when cash positive, resume Georgia.
