I am curious if battery replacement will be under $100/kwh..if i could replace a battery at 200k miles for under $14k i would sign up. But i think Rivian will be more interested in selling me a gen7 r1s at that point..
Correct me if I am wrong but the gen quad has a 135kw battery and gets 305 miles while a gen 2 dual large has the same size battery and gets 329 miles? Maybe on day there will be a 100 kWh battery with 400 miles of range
I remember when the 2011 jeep wranglers got coin storage on the dashboard and Bluetooth streaming audio. I was gutted that I had a 3 month car that was obsolete. 16 years later I have a Bluetooth speaker and America no longer makes pennies…tech will always find a way
I keep toying with trading in for a gen 2 but i think comma answers lane-stay issues. And I keep realizing I could find myself in a constant upgrade/update cycle. So I will hold on to my Gen 1 until 2033 barring any major issues.
I am 3 hours from a service center and my local Mavis rotates for free (but I give them $50 to buy lunch) and I pay RIVN $200 to look at my car (last time they threw in a free 12v battery). So support local labor & RIVN.
