  1. Making changes to the wheel selections in the configurator...

Pricing should remain other than cost of wheels. As for delivery time, I have changed color and wheels and delivery remains the same. changed white to limestone and 21s to 22s back to 21s still q4 delivery.
  2. Just reserved a Volvo EX30 for the wife

Had to upgrade to $55000 to get light colored interior. Wish Henrik, the best but appears to have missed the window to attract buyers. The Pear may fill a void. It will be curious to see the appetite for a 25k vehicle.
  3. Just reserved a Volvo EX30 for the wife

This looks like a very compelling competitor to Fisker Ocean. I really wanted an Ocean. However their wheel choices are not appealing and for 70k, there are better choices out there. As a former owner of a 1998 in-line 6 Cherokee, Jeep is missing out on not electrifying the Cherokee.
  4. Rivian Repair Article - NYT: Why Car Repairs Have Become So Expensive

I still have yet to receive mine. But there are two in Lake Charles. One R1S preorder. one R1T ordered in May 2023 delivered in June. Both were delivered via flatbed from Houston. There is also one in NO who used a TX address. I am not sure how they circumvented the double sales tax issue. TX...
  5. Rivian Repair Article - NYT: Why Car Repairs Have Become So Expensive

For a FL policy that is not terrible. I pay 250 for liability on my 2010 wrangler and 750 for comprehensive on my financed M3. I am thinking my R1S will be close to 1k for 6 months.
  6. Rivian Repair Article - NYT: Why Car Repairs Have Become So Expensive

in 25 years of driving, I have never had an insurance claim but there is no way to self insurance. Also we have attorneys that buy 8888 Jell-O shots because Louisiana drivers are bad. https://www.wdsu.com/article/baton-rouge-lawyer-jell-o-shots-college-world-series/44346552
  7. Rivian Repair Article - NYT: Why Car Repairs Have Become So Expensive

I live in Louisiana and the only thing worse than heat, humidity, and hurricanes are insurance premiums. Why Car Repairs Have Become So Expensive More technology and creature comforts, as well as a parade of new electric vehicles, have complicated the job after accidents...
  8. Charging Port Standard Placement for NACS?

This should phase out ports between the door and wheel. Right where ford and gm have chosen to place theirs.
  9. Charging Port Standard Placement for NACS?

It appears that NACS will become the standard for charging. Will there become a standard for port placement. My vote would be front driver side and Tesla can move theirs to rear passenger side. This way you can pull in or back in for the same placement.
  10. Pre-Price Hike Order Hypothetical

Would you switch from Quad to dual motors if Rivian honored the old price however no discount for the downgrade? Would this financially benefit Rivian? I know they charge more for quad but how much of that is markup? Like some have said I am surprised that there is not much efficiency difference...
  11. Home Charging

Should I just keep my Tesla charger and use the adapter? Is it still necessary to own the Rivian charger? I know there are many unknowns, just curious on everyone’s thought.
  12. Courtesy Trade-ins

Purely customer service. Local dealers do it when they have nothing to gain other than hopefully selling an extended warranty on a used vehicle.
  13. Courtesy Trade-ins

Will Rivian, CarMax, carmigo, etc do a courtesy trade-in. Sales tax in La is 10% and offset by a trade-in. I know selling directly to Rivian will offset the sales tax but if I get a higher offer elsewhere will it be possible to have Rivian facilitate the trade?
  14. Houston to New Orleans in a Rivian?

You will stop at the Walmart in Sulphur. NO has ChargePoint chargers around town. Let me know if you find a fast charger other than Tesla around town. also I wish there were fast chargers on highway 90. Skip the Baton Rouge bridge/traffic mess
  15. R1S Launch Edition with Ocean Coast Interior (8 Steps open)

Not sure how CA works but wouldn’t you want the trade in applied to the new car to reduce sales tax?
  16. Thousands of invites coming to R1T reservation holders to configure + take delivery in 1-4 months after order confirmation (3/10/23 News)

Any idea how sales tax was handled. My understanding is that TX charges at point of sale and you would have to pay again in La when registered. I think without a dealer network to invoice you may have to pay taxes twice. I know that Tesla will not allow for a TX delivery for sales tax purposes.
  17. Most economical wheel choice in the long run?

If I get the 21s and spend 1600 on new tires after 3 tires I break even? 1600*3=4800 or 1800+(1000*3) =4800. No guarantees that the 21s are 400 a piece and no guarantees I can find $250 20 or 22s. My other unknown is if 20s or 22s will last longer than the 21s. None of the rims blow me away to...
  18. I don't feel valued as a customer

2021 pre-order as well. I was ready to cancel and then did a test drive and I am now ecstatic to get my R1S. With that said as long as I am locked in on price I am willing to wait. There are plenty of Launch Edition reservations still waiting. For the longevity of RIVN I am ok with some but not...
  19. 2018 Orders Still Pending

hope this works for you. I am 150 miles away but across state lines. My understanding is TX charges sales tax at point of sale and La charges when registered. I had to pick up my TSLA in MS ( 230 miles away) With no dealer network I am at risk of double sales tax therefore I continue to wait...
