  1. Electric tonneau cover for those that didn't get one from factory or was cancelled looks like there is no retro fit option

I'm very unhappy with Rivian's decisions so far on this one. They removed my electric tonneau, and now don't plan to sell me a retrofit one either. Seems like they don't want my money for a product I really want to buy.
  2. RTT mounts from Wheel Every Weekend

I have the v1 mounting kit and it doesn't line up. Upside: I didn't pay for it, it came used along with the v2 mounts when I got the tent used. Instead, I got these bolts from Ironman, and while pricy for what they are, they work perfectly. Good mountain hardware is worth it to me, especially...
  3. 4x4 Roller Test Performed on R1T -- Rivian vs Toyota 4x4 Roller Test. Quad motor vs ATRAC vs Locker

I bet if enough people notice the odd torque control modes, rivian will change it. Something like a virtual locker in the off road modes would go a long way to even the score.
  4. Diminished real range 14 months in

I'm curious if your full-to-empty test trip included hvac. Vehicle range estimation doesn't have weather knowledge, and cooling the interior is ~15% of the energy use at peak. Elevation change + hvac could be part of what you're seeing.
  5. Tool mark or damage to steering linkage. Opinions requested

Just let them handle it: They have insurance and a warranty.
  6. Tool mark or damage to steering linkage. Opinions requested

Can't help you as far as "is that a crack" from just photos, but I can give you the right words: That's your front suspension's upper control arm, on the front side. That looks to be the passenger side front. My truck doesn't have that line: I wouldn't spend much time in Rally Mode til that...
  7. 4-way split order 20” dark for spares?

I'm in for a 20" dark AT. DM me?
  8. "Brutally honest" BuiltRight Industries License Plate Mount Review

I got the brain exploder one originally, but it departed the truck when doing this sort of thing: Specifically the OEM license plate holder snapped off where it latches into the clamp around the tow hook. So now I've ordered the builtright one, it looks to be stronger. I'm intending to keep...
  9. 12 volt inspection

They're likely going to not want to swap for a LiPo. They'll cite compatability or liability reasons, but the underlying reason is that it wouldn't work with the car as it's built. Here's how it works: First, LVM: The R1 has a few versions of 'on', and one of them is called Low Voltage...
  10. Trip Report: Northern California Exploring

Yep, Forest Green with dark ATs. I'll have many more pics to come, the ones attached are all I really have for now. Forest color is best color Yep, attached them myself. They're some very cheap flexible panels from aliexpress (I got four in case one dies on me). I attached them with automotive...
  11. Trip Report: Northern California Exploring

3.5mi/kwh when drafting a semi on flat roads.
  12. Trip Report: Northern California Exploring

I took my R1T on a road trip north from the Bay Area. My goal was to explore some of the Redwoods, and revisit a favorite camping area, all on free electricity from the RAN chargers in Ukiah and Fortuna. Here's how it went: Charging: RAN chargers are pretty awesome. The ease of use (pull up...
  13. Off-Road Tire Pressure?

These sidewalls are pretty soft. This was at street pressure, in light sand with a few scattered rocks. Must have clipped one of them. I aired down to 32psi after that, and stayed away from the sand that could hide more rocks like the one that gashed my tire. At 32 it feels perfect: The right...
  14. Road Trip - recommendations please!

Up near Klamath, you can head down to the Gold Bluff beach day use lot, and hike around Fern Canyon. It's a pretty cool area!
  15. A rainy day out in R1T... Here's how it went.

Definitely. We found some ~foot deep mud ruts that I messed around in for a bit. These are definitely not mud tires, but they keep the truck moving okay. Kinda fun how the flat bottom of the r1 just slides along mud. I'm looking forward to some dune and forest road time soon.
  16. A rainy day out in R1T... Here's how it went.

Sorry, I don't share locations online. Too many of my favorite MTB trails have been ruined by oversharing on the web.
  17. A rainy day out in R1T... Here's how it went.

I took my R1T out for a meandering day. Here's how it went: Where: Mountain roads around the Bay Area, including one where the pavement gets very bad, and eventually ends, with a seasonal gate. The good: This truck is an absolute dream. On windy roads with good pavement, Sport mode makes for...
