This has nothing to do with the fact that Elon's $1 trillion pay package is directly tied to "FSD" subscriptions - right? Right!

I can only speak for myself, but I absolutely love my Gen 1 Quad. Zero issues or complaints, and would do nothing different if I had the benefit of hindsight when making my purchase.
Didn't one of the more recent (prior) OTA's nerf audio a good bit? Is it back to where it was before that update?
I'm sitting about 3-4 OTAs back primarily to avoid the audio issues that were introduced. If it's back to as good or better than it was before, then I think I may take the plunge on...
$RIVN may be one of the easiest stocks to swing trade in recent memory. My personal strategy has been to hold a decent sized block of shares and sell covered calls. Rinse & repeat with all these short term bounces in the $12-$16ish ranges. Current cycles tend to pop at start of week, dump at end...
The vast majority of EV owners are going to be carrying adapters for the foreseeable future (5-10 years if I were guessing), so I personally don't care at all which port my truck has native (especially given the free NACS adapter Rivian provided).
There are just too many public Level 2 chargers...
People forget their cell phones (which contain extremely precise GPS chips, broadcast unique identifiers, and can be easily triangulated via cell towers and wifi networks) are essentially active tracking devices enabled at all times.
That's not me wearing a tin hat (spoiler: I carry my iPhone...
100% agree with you there. Regardless, install continues to scare me away from this (as well as the ~$450 USD in harnesses / adapters / taps needed to make it work correctly - don't care about longitudal control, but do care about blind spot on lane change).
Still sitting on the sidelines...
Just FYI, geohot's official account posted on Reddit yesterday that they will ban anyone who does that. While I generally like George and the work he's done over the years, I really don't like the messaging on that post.
And just to add - once the vehicle is in sleep mode, don't sit in the driver's seat or put any objects or weight on it because it will automatically wake from sleep mode if it detects a "driver" in the vehicle (or a key fob, bluetooth on a phone key, etc.).

Wow, that's super disappointing. Held off on the prior OTA (2024.51) and was about to install this one last night but saw your post and decided to hold off for another round until the next OTA now to see if that fixes the reintroduction of that issue.
Really appreciate you both taking the time...
Fellow cheapskate here (had C+ until this month, decided to take a month off to try the unlimited 5G hotspot included in my new phone plan) & received the update last night as well.
I've always taken a "wait & see" approach to updates though so don't plan to install until sometime next week...
I also have another (dumb) question that I'm sure is probably answered elsewhere.
When running Comma 3X on a Rivian (or any EV for that matter), does it factor in / utilize regenerative braking, or is physical braking all that is in play? If it does factor in regenerative, is it able to read...
I suspect the R2 launch will have little to no impact on the R1S used (or new, for that matter) market.
R1S and R2 seem to be very different vehicles (and significantly different in size) so I would imagine most R1S owners who plan to buy an R2 (myself included) will likely be supplementing...
What's most confusing is they seem to be extremely hit or miss.
Like "Bluey" that OP mentioned, my Gen 1 R1S (the only Rivian I own currently) has been essentially flawless outside of a few panel gaps & an interior rattle here and there. Absolutely zero mechanical / functional issues and really...
Not yet, but there was / is a good amount of speculation new admin / Congress will eliminate the EV credit for TY 2025 and beyond (in which case they could choose to eliminate the credits all the way back to January 1, 2025, even if you took delivery before the change was made).
Not sure if...
Can confirm my early 2023 R1S (vin 61XX) has the single horn (driver side). Have debated doing the aftermarket upgrade but haven't pulled the trigger yet (partially due to concern over breaking clips removing the frunk & ending up with a bigger project).
