2025 New Trimotor on lot in Milpitas - How? Why?

Found a brand new 2025 R1T still available in Milpitas (CA). Seems like a mainstream build, nothing fancy. The VIN 036580 seems to indicate it was built early in the 2025 run. Anyone have any idea why it might still be available and what to look out for if I was considering buying it? Doesn't seem like there are ANY 2025's around still.

It doesn’t show up in online inventory? Unicorn? Are they offering a steep discount?

It was on the on-line inventory. It's not there now. I heard from a friend that it would be eligible for 3K off as a 2025. Unicorn maybe? But why? The old charge port? The 100 miles makes me think it was maybe used for a lot of test drives. That said, I can't imagine those test drives would flog it any harder than I would in the first week or two. Maybe it had a roof crack it is has been waiting off to the side while they got a new fancy one and installed it.

I thought we got one of the last 2025 Tri R1T in January. Not to rub salt in your deal but we got the free all terrain upgrade so 20-inch ATs and underbody added on for free. It also had 0% financing. We had a deal on one and it disappeared from the shop, so I gave up and then a week later the one we bought showed up. If you get a 25 look for the low coolant warning, they have a known issue. They fixed ours within a month after we got it.

100 miles is coincidentally the placeholder number they use on all new, never registered, sales. Who knows. Could have been one reserved or custom ordered but canceled or refused delivery. And could have been canceled due to loss of Federal credit?

Yeah, I contacted the guy at the shop and he said it has 78 actual miles. I went ahead and put down a deposit on it. its the truck I want in the color I want and at a last year's model cost. Hopefully there are no surprises...

I purchased my 2026 T in January and there were lots of 25s in inventory. Not surprising to see a straggler out there. Also, they offered 5k off stiicker for buying one already built.
