I searched and couldn't find a solutuon:

New R1T owner, but I've owned pickups for more than 40 years. I love the gear, tunnel concept and can't believe it hasn't been done earlier (I do understand the ICE truck structure that makes it harder).

I think a slide is a great idea, but I don’t need it or want to spend $1k to solve my real problem-lack of tie downs. I need a way to secure small loads to keep them from sliding side-to-side. For example, I just picked up a new battery for my boat. It's in the tunnel, but not tied down. That's not safe.

Has, anybody found a good aftermarket of DIY solution?

Greetings from Battle Ground! I agree. There should be some way to secure stuff in there. I have a propane tank that needs to be refilled and first thought gear tunnel but wondered about it rolling around etc. Lying it on it’s side would help but not completely. Piling up things to keep it in place seems a poor solution. Knowing where it would be safe to drill is a challenge. A collapsible box would be ideal but it would have to be long and wide enough to hold something tall.

We don’t need an expensive pull out tray system. Just something simple like the bed tie downs. Just a couple high and a couple low about a foot in from the tunnel doors.

Perhaps an expanding bar like they have r truck beds that you could secure across the opening ideally horizontally or vertically might work. The problem is finding something short enough to use across the tunnel walls or roof/floor.

Like this only much shorter

A simple DIY solution is to use the same method the gear tunnel sleds are bolted in place. at each end of the tunnel there is a plastic panel at the floor which pops out and exposes the bracket with bolt holes (Gear tunnel sleds bolt to this). Simple DIY solution is to bolt I hooks or a DIY bracket or something similar at this point and lash equipment to it ... be creative based upon need.
