Now that its been out a few weeks, how are you finding it? Is it actually good? I was at the SC today, and asked one of the guys about if they could order it for me and do a paid upgrade ahead of it being in the gear shop. He said "I wouldnt if I were you. I actually like the Gen 2 better, and think it works better. I'd hate for you to spend $600-$700 and be worse off". I then confirmed we were talking about the same thing, and he said he was unimpressed by the Qi2 chargers.

So I thought I'd ask here - anyone have one and like it? Are there still issues with it?

It's got to be better than the first iterations. I can't imagine it could get any worse haha

There is already a thread. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...-in-my-2026-r1t-works-amazingly-better.57445/

It works. What more do you need? Riviantrackr observed it to be 5W only. Soonish thinks it's capable of higher, but limited somehow. If you consistently need your phone to charge fast and in short order, it probably isn't fast enough.

5W isn't Qi2 standard. $600-700 is an exaggeration. Second iteration wasn't even $300 IIRC.

Yes it works great! I had an OG version which was useless. Has MagSafe which keeps your phone in place and can charge 2 phones at a time. Doesn't overheat your phone as well. It isnt the fastest but works well. As stated above if you need faster charging I'd use a cable.

Hi Everyone. Just picked up my R1S yesterday. According to the delivery person, my vehicle was only one of two that currently have the new charger. Glad my delivery took so long (custom order). :)

I haven't really tested the charging ability other than it seems to work. What I found out very quickly is that it does not work with my current iPhone case as the edges are too raised. So I'm currently trying to find a new case. Any suggestions are welcome.

One day later I went on 3 very short drives. Less than 5 miles, and less than 15 minutes. My phone was at 20% charge to start and ended up about 45%. Very satisfied so far.

I replaced my former RhinoShield case that had too much of a raised edge to work with the charger with a Tocol case. I'm sure there are other cases that would work too.
