Another idiot who bought second hand for a slight markup here reporting in.

I found this truck at my local Volvo dealership whom I do business with ... Was actually servicing one of my Volvo's at the time (S60 Recharge T8 Polestar) and saw this on the lot. 200 miles on it.. Listed for $107k (Which is what -- 30k over msrp?). I thought about it for a while and priced out the equivalent truck from Rivian to order now and it came out to about $103k -- so I said why not?

Few hours later it was in my driveway, and many of my dollars were missing. A fool and his money are easily parted I suppose.

Well I am one happy fool.

This isn't my first EV rodeo -- previous EV's (other than the plug-in hybrid Volvo) were:

Tesla Model S Plaid

(I was the first person to design, manufacture, and sell direct-fit splash guards for it over on the TeslaMotorsClub forums). I sold it for exactly what I paid after about threeish months of ownership because the quality issues were just getting to me (5 service appointments in the first two months....). It was a great car, but for the money I was personally not satisfied with the quality.

Tesla Model Y Performance:

Honestly I had no complaints with this one, it was great. Quality was decent for the price, it was fun, great range... I sold it to get the plaid. Should have kept it.

Also in my garage right now I have a 2022 Corvette HTC Z51 2LT:

I Look forward to sharing all the issues I'll eventually have with this Rivian with you.

Congrats. Like you already realized yourself. If you didn't already have a pre-order, the cost isn't that far off from ordering one anyway, except for having to wait another year to even get it. You wouldn't qualify for the $7500 rebate come next year anyway either so no loss there as well.

for what it's worth, I have a VIN 4500s with zero issues other than the sticky tonneau cover that will be recalled for all anyway. Enjoy the truck!

First “issue” this one has is the “tock”. Happens on accel sometimes, on heavy braking as well.

not really sure it’s an issue though… a little drivetrain slack on an off-road vehicle is usually not a bad thing.

I would like to add a roadster someday if they ever come out, put it over in that third bay. ?

The C8 was getting my feet wet with mid engine. It’s not electric but boy do I love it. I hope to replace it with something like a F8 Tributo or similar someday.
