Can you say more about the orange peel? Is it bumpy to the touch? How would one correct that? Is it worse than other manufacturers?

Are you saying that a light color paint has fewer defects? Otherwise, just curious why you prefer light? Thanks
It’s only textured to the touch if you know what you’re looking for. It’s no worse than a new c63 AMG I just saw yesterday though. OE paint is all just not great. You can correct it by clay bar and buffing but it takes forever and it’s a stupid endeavor in my opinion.

I like light colors for a lot of reasons but as a rule, black shows any imperfection worse than any other color. White and light silvers tend to hide those things well. IMO they also look the best practically speaking. No one can argue that a blacked out vehicle looks great, but only before the dirt and water spots start to collect.

A coworker sent me this today. This is exactly a mile from my house, but I was up in the mountains or I would have been tempted to track them down

3 R1Ts in uptown Albuquerque?

It is nice to see RAM and the Raptor are in minority.

It’s not bad paint, it’s just lazy application. You can always glass it out, but your spray parameters have to change throughout the day to accomplish it and your paint shop has to be running at the tits.
Robots aren’t very lazy. ?
Looking at these two interior shots @TollKeeper, is the second one a Forest Edge interior on a customer delivery or just a difference in lighting?
Forest edge on the Denver service centre’s shop truck.

I am well aware. I’ve done initial startup and programming on 3 different OE lines including NSX and HD. It’s about who is running the line and how tight they’re monitoring the process. The BEST humidity control in a plant is +/- 5-7% and even that is enough to require a change in the catalyst/acid/reducer ratio to get glass. Show me a paint line who has a table to reference to make those corrections and does it on a reliable basis and I’ll show you a shift full of liars.

Feels kind of strange to be posting a photo of my own R1T in this thread, but I happened to notice how reflective the back window was parked in my driveway:

Gorgeous, underlining where the R1T belongs. Thanks.
