Rivian dictated where pick up would be, and for me it is 16 miles away (not terrible), although the nearest sc is 2 miles away.

Do you have a say in your delivery location? I am in CT and have seen some people from CT say they had to go to DE or NH for pickup when there is a place pretty close in MA. Don’t want a 4-5+ hr drive if I don’t have to.

In my completion steps I did not get to pick which of the three local service centers I took delivery at. It automatically seemed to give me the closest one, although I'm not sure if that was because it's the closest or because it's the one that they picked. Either way, I couldn't opt for a different one.

Not all service centers are equipped to handle deliveries. For example, I'm ~10 mins away from the Sterling, VA SC, but I'll have to pickup my R2 in Gaithersburg, MD SC which is 40 miles away (about 1 hour).

Delivery scheduled 8/24 (for 9/25).
Oregon (Corvallis area, pick up in Portland).
Currently own R1T.

Unfortunately, 9/25 doesn't work for us, so I'll need to reschedule a couple days later.

Sharing my timelines and the things I've learned along the way thus far:
-Reserved day 1, R1S owner
-June 30 ordering window of 2-4 weeks
-July 28 order invite and order placed (exactly 4 weeks)
-July 28, later in the day received the "We are getting your vehicle ready for production" email
-Somewhere in the process I was given a 4-8 weeks delivery estimate
-August 15 VIN (7400) received along with "It's time to begin the purchase process"
-August 19 reached out to Richmond, VA service center and learned

-The vehicle left Normal that day via rail (7/19)​

-Delivery would not be scheduled until the vehicle reaches the "destination railhead"​

-expect 3-5 weeks​

-August 26 (today), another reach out to the service center:

-Vehicle is expected to arrive at the destination railhead on Sept 9 (that's the 3 week mark from the estimate)​

-The destination railhead is Bayview... looked it up and that's in Baltimore​

Optimistically, I tack on another week to 9/9 to be trucked down to Richmond, perform any pre-delivery inspections, etc. It's only about a 2.5-3 hour drive and assuming the truck is just other Richmond bound Rivians. That would put things right at the upper end of the original delivery estimate at 8 weeks.

Yeah got this one yesterday too. Definitely a letdown!

Better than radio silence, though. That happened a lot to me with my final Tesla purchase (which was seven months of estimated delivery date shifts after putting in the order....)

Yeah it looks like its a standard Wednesday at noon EDT email if you haven't gotten a VIN yet. Same as last week.

Nice, I remember you also getting your Rivian around same time as me early days. Did you get your property tax bill yet? Curious how it compares to R1(same or lower)
