Aren't you an R1 owner? They're giving them priority so it doesn't sound that crazy.
Yeah, I am on my second R1T so I guess they thought: this dude will definitely buy the R2 as well :D
I think the other part of why so fast is that there are at least 3 service centers in less than 20 miles from where I live (PNW)

I think there may be a couple things in play. Are you ordering a common configuration (e.g., save a common config as favorite), are other vehicles headed to your closest SC, how many test drives you have reserved/been on).

I thought when you placed the reservation and did the deposit, the only thing it asked/saved was if you want a LE or not. I never picked colors or options when I placed my reservation.

Maybe I missed something

I’m guessing there is an extremely strong correlation between physical location of the reservee and the capacity of the associated delivery center. For instance I had an expiring October EV lease but am located 175 miles from the Oklahoma City SC where I took delivery. That center has had very few deliveries and thus ample capacity to handle my delivery. I reserved May 28, Ordered July 28, and took delivery August 14.

If you’re located adjacent to an SC with potentially huge backlog, it goes to reason your invite might be delayed. Also, my R2 was transported from the factory by truck. Those being transported by rail might be experiencing logistical constraints that are causing serious delivery delays which might be cascading into delayed invitations.

I'm near Tulsa about 115 miles from the OKC SC, and have a day one reservation and still just have an Aug-Sept order window.

I said i would report back when the invite came. I placed a new reservation on June 16 and today, exactly 9 weeks later, I was invited to order a launch edition. So I think we can call it. The original reservation backlog is now done (at least for the launch edition). It took a few weeks longer than I would.

I took delivery of my R2 last Friday at the Oklahoma City SC. I was their third delivery. It was 2.5 weeks from order to delivery. My choice of location was no doubt instrumental in rapid delivery. Those living on the coasts or urban areas with high EV adoption rates appear to have longer waits. My R2 was delivered to the SC by truck…so train logistics were avoided.
Didnt help me, as that is where I would take delivery.
