SCAM ALERT: TikTok Account Pretending to be RIVIAN CEO

All, please be aware that there is a fake account for the RIVIAN CEO out there in the social media apps - specifically TikTok. The account name is "
RJ Scaringe rjscaringe_rivianceo". Engaging with this account will lead you to a WhatsApp Contact - "903-486-5605". Further engagement will get you an email from a user claiming to be the RIVIAN COO Javier Varela "[email protected]" which as you can see has a misspelled word in the address.

Be careful out there and know that I've reported this, along with all of my engagement with these accounts to RIVIAN but, RIVIAN's legal team hasn't reached out to discuss this with me - something that I'm completely open to.

Also, it's a gmail account for a major company. That's not how corporate emails work.

And Rivian legal won't need to contact you. They'll go right to TikTok (or wherever else the scam is running) to deal with things.

Update: provided all of the correspondence to the manager at the Rivian Space near me. Fingers crossed.

Highly unlikely for CEO of any corporation to have direct interaction of this sort with general public anyway—who isn’t a VIP or member of the press.

Welcome to the internet. Every major company has an impersonator on every possible social media. I've also talked to "RJ" on Discord.

On top of that, mostly everything on TikTok is a scam.
