I signed up to be contacted when it comes available in RI. No one has reached out to me yet. I tried to request a quote, and I got "Something went wrong...", and that was it.

Your better off emaiing them like others have suggested on the forum. I emailed them and got a reply they would respond in three days and they responded on the second with a link to the site where you can get the brochure and all the quotes. Our quotes are good until Sept 1 and we will be purchasing for our 2023 LE R1S this week or next.

3yr 36k warranty was $4200. I bought it
Thanks. What's the deductible?

I looked at xcare. My 2024 R1S w/ 24k miles

@$100 deductible would be this.

Since you can transfer the warranty we see it as good for us and a selling point for private sale so we are going to max out. Looking at the high deductibles our pricing for our 2023 R1S with 37k miles is

6 year 1k deductible $4804
7 year 1k deductible $5686

The price increases for the terms are really reasonable and well in line with the cheapest manufactuer warranties available from Ford and other legacy manufactuers. The low deductibles are what kills. IMO the optimum is to pick the term you want, but get the max deductible for that term.

We will be going with the 7 year

Also very nice they offer 24 monthly payments for cash flow

That 8 years is a good price on first glance, but then the same 100k miles as the 7 years... seems less of a deal then

Yeah, I viewed that for users who do higher miles, they get a year less as they are likely to hit the milage whereas those who travel less gets the longer term for $375 . There is also a 10yr /125k miles for $7300

The price with the higher $500 deductible from XCare is pretty reasonable (see snip below), but I do have a few concerns.

I'm frankly not familiar with the company, and my understanding is that you first pay out of pocket, and wait to be reimbursed. I'm OK with the wait for reimbursement, provided that XCare gives you some assurance about the claim prior to you going ahead with the work. There seems to be some debate about this on the Tesla forums, with a number of owners saying their claims were denied after the work was done.

Another concern is the R1's air suspension, which I suspect is a prime candidate for failure as the vehicle ages. The work would almost certainly be very costly and its unclear if it's actually covered. The suspension is technically part of the coverage, but it looks to me that the specific air suspension components could easily be considered wear and tear elements, so excluded.

Anyone have insight into this? And will we face the same issues with Rivian Care?

That is one bonus for the Rivian Care is that the mileage is unlimited, it's all based on years. Also they take the battery pack to 200K miles if within the term limit.

I started a thread to compare Xcare and RivianCare:

https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/xcare-vs-riviancare-now-available-in-48-states.61789/

Lots of good info so far. Here are a couple of items to consider:

Both plans will only cover the replacement of a component one time. Meaning if your front right dampener fails and they replace it, neither will replace it again.

The Xcare plan is limited by the JD Power Trade In Value. They will not pay a claim if the total of all previously paid claims and the pending claim are more than the current trade in value. While not an initial concern, as the vehicle ages and the repair cost accumulate, the vehicles value will also be decreasing. I assume they will intersect before the end of the warranty term or the mileage limits. This is assuming Rivian makes it and the trade in value doesn’t plummet. This may be the deciding factor for me between these two plans.

I have not been able to review the RivianCare docs yet but no one has mentioned a similar limit.

I think both limits are concerning. I do not like that Rivian is so unsure of their product that they would allow a VSC provider to limit replacements to one time. My primary concern is the suspension. It’s not a secret that there are problems there. They really should address this with their owners. The suspension, at least on the Gen 1, is problematic.

Xcare is offering an 18 payment plan (inc 20% down) and I hear RivianCare is offering a 24 payment plan. Both are helpful.

I am also told by a Xcare rep that their plan prices are going up in the near future due to more payouts for….you guessed it…suspensions issues than they were anticipating.
