This is great news for many, and hopefully for me as well.

Assuming the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is one of the 48 states, it means that I can plan on keeping my late Gen 1 R1T beyond the initial warranty period. The R1T is a great vehicle, and mine has been nearly flawless in the two years I've owned it. As the saying goes, "past performance is no guarantee of future success" and the repair costs for an out-of-warranty Rivian are unlikely to be trivial.

I received the same information directly from Rivian care via email. Unless purchased from Rivian used.

I have tried to submit the form for the Rivian care quote on multiple devices and browsers.

Every time it tells me

"Something went wrong. You may have already submitted the form with your email and selected state. "

I have not submitted any forms up to this point. Maybe just a website glitch?

Did you get a personalized link to follow from the Rivian Insurance team? You need that in order to request a quote. If you haven't, just email them at [email protected] and they'll get back to you.

Is this month to month with no obligation like Tesla? If so, this is a compelling option.

I've signed up for the extended warranty on my Model Y. It is only $60 a month, starts after my original warranty ends, and I can cancel at any time. Much better than owning a warranty that I'll never get to use, and I get to decide if there is $720 of annual repair risk after 50,000 miles.

I just logged in and submitted the form asking for a quote when more information is available in California.

I hope they come through in October for Cali. I was seriously looking to trade in my R1S asap with something less complicated considering how the values is dropping on these vehicles.

I call BS that you have to pay the premium to get your used vehicle from Rivian’s used fleet, especially since the “inspection” doesn’t meet muster. Seems there are posts with bought used from rivian and immediately had xyz problem and/or not even cleaned out? Should be able to take your used Rivian to a service center, have them verify it isn’t damaged and get Rivian Care. Otherwise change the name to Rivian Sort of Cares.
