Candidly this is my dilemna…I absolutely love my Tesla Model Y RWD Premium. My wife loves it as well. For about $60K I can get a Model Y Performance, Rivian R2, or hope the Tesla Cybertruck base version comes down in price.
The Model Y is a known quantity and we love it…but the R2 seems to...
Thanks, I have that link but it only includes pictures. The video is referencing a detailed PDF of all the R2 features. Some manufacturers provide very detailed press kits. Once you read one, you realize how little effort "Care and Driver" puts into their reviews...
Hi Everyone,
Can you find the R2 PDF press kit shown in this video? Most manufacturers have a dedicated media page with a press kit and I've learned from experience that reviews often share a few facts from these kits but often leave out the most interesting facts. If you can find and share I...
Yeah….I’ve only read three videos so far, but this is the reason I tend to be skeptical about some of the so called journalists.
(Full disclosure: Rivian flew me to Park City, Utah and put journalists up in a swanky hotel for the launch of the R2. Meals and test cars were provided.)
Yes, they have advantages in different areas, even though they will be cross shopped due to the similarities in pricing. If handling is a priority, then I think the Model Y should be evaluated as well since it is a sub $60K option.
Do you understand what you are writing? He is a racist and bigot, because he is a pedo….??? You are a clown because you are not a balloon. Not sure I can compete in this argument.
Musk isn't a racist or a bigot. Candidly the amount of hate I see in this forum gives me pause as I consider the Rivian R2. Based on many who engage in this forum I almost get the impression the only reason to buy a Rivian is if you have some political aversion to Tesla. Not good IMHO.
Consumers around the world have set the record straight, making the Tesla Model Y the best selling vehicle in the world (truck, car, SUV, electric, etc.) for 3 years in a row.
Why do you keep acting like you are knowledgeable? I purchased the Model Y over the Audi A5 and BMW 3 series due to the overall performance and ride advantages. The base Premium Model Y performs better than a base Porsche Macan in almost every metric.
This statement is inaccurate. Despite the unique look it is about the most practical consumer pickup you can buy. More space, more hauling capacity, towing, speed, handling, turning radius, efficiency, etc. Also the safest pickup you can own.
I believe your perception about the current state of FSD is skewed. I’ve had versions that haven’t worked as well, and I’m looking forward to the upcoming pothole avoidance.
Saw this article about Lidar and thought it was interesting enough to share. I still have some reservations with the Launch edition, not including Rivian’s ”next gen” system.
It’s arguably my first Winter with the FSD, but Maryland had unusually bad weather this year. I ran FSD in snow, heavy downpours, and fog. A few times I took over in snow but not often, and the improvements since March to FSD have been substantial. 99% of the time I am turning off FSD is because...
But there is an undefined risk. I paid Tesla $8,000 this year (before the cutoff) to own FSD. It will take me about 5 years to break even (selling has some value). I am betting that Tesla may raise the price as it becomes unsupervised.
Rivian is potentially in the same boat. The current version...
The ability for an elderly person to have a car take them to the doctor is essentially here today. While no manufacturer is rated for point to point today, the consumer version of Tesla FSD backed me out of the garage and drove over 100 miles to my friends house yesterday and parked me curbside...
