Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
I was doing some personal research on how vehicles have become more grayscale over time by taking some pictures of a local mall‘s parking lot and comparing it to one from the 1980’s (Turns out the dominance of neutral colors started in that decade!)

Anyway, as I was snapping away I noticed something in the distance. A rare and elusive creature vehicle that quickly ran drove away. Rivian please bring this color back on the R2, even if it’s just a limited run. We need to bring cheerful bright colors back to parking lots, roads, parks, and trailheads everywhere. Don’t let the Broncos, Jeeps, and Slates have all the fun.

I’ve got a couple of these running around my neck of the woods. The owner of one is on this board. I’ve even seen a Canyon Yellow R1S running around here.

I drive by at least 3-4 R1 vehicles every time I leave the house. Most green, gray or black.

Saw a Compass Yellow R1S the other day and had the fortune of driving behind it for a few miles. What a pleasure. Such a beautiful color. Mind you, I don't exactly love yellow. Might be my least favorite color but it just looks so good on these vehicles.

The R2, appearing more playful, would have looked AMAZING in this color. Even if for a limited run, Rivian needs to just make it happen. The R2 looks like it was made for the fun colors.

Gotta say, while it "works" on the R1T, it makes the R1S look like a school bus or service vehicle. Like @Great Gatsby just said, probably my least favorite color is yellow too, and this is my least favorite Rivian color. There are far-fewer Rivians up Nord here, the unicorn siting for me is the single Red Canyon R1S that I spy occasionally. Looks sharp.

Though, in full disclosure, my first car was:

As a very happy Compass Yellow R1T owner, I agree!

When I evangelize about Rivians to people who engage with me in parking lots (and after more than two years of ownership, this has not subsided), they always compliment me on the color. I have to let them know that everyone loves the color--on someone else's vehicle. Too few people want to make a bold color statement with a vehicle that they own, which is why Compass Yellow got discontinued. It just didn't sell, despite so many people liking it!

I have put more than 40,000 miles on Ms. Frizzle and am nowhere close to any serious thoughts about replacement. But when that day comes, I hope Rivian will have introduced some bold-colored options!
