R1S Phone Mount Recommendations?

Looking for phone holder recommendations for my R1S. I’d love something that:

  • Holds securely
  • Works well with MagSafe
  • Is easy to remove if needed
Bonus points if you have photos of your setup. What are you all using and would you buy it again?

Thanks

I've had at least five different mounts/clips/holders, finally have a setup I like. I used various commercial options and things that I 3D printed. What I've settled on is the Twraps left side dash mount with an extension arm and a MagSafe holder with active cooling. In my environment, cooling is critical. I am finally 100% happy and would not change anything.

I ran power into the dash and down the side, where it gets USB-PD from an OBD plug. There are also fuses there, but a fuse-to-PD adapter is rare, while OBD to PD was easy. Most 12v to USB adapters are simple 5v/2.1a. The active cooling needs around 27w total to cool and charge.

Left side or right depends on what you like. I slightly prefer right, but my CarPlay screen is there.

MagSafe tied to a charger fed from a fuse tap.

I have the same Everyamp setup, with OBD2 adapter and charging mount w/cooling and love it! Great company too!

I don't care at all about "bonus points" (dude, don't be so annoying), but I love helping out the community.

The Everyamp phone holder/charger is amazing. I have been meaning to leave a review on the forum, so I am kind of making up for that here.

I purchased it directly from Everyamp, here: https://everyamp.com/products/rivian-phone-mount-r1t-r1s?variant=50267887599937

They have iterated on the mount. The first mount put the phone too close to the steering wheel, but the new version (the one available for sale now) places the phone pretty much perfectly. I might move it a bit higher and a little to the right, but it is good the way it is. And every phone model is different so for some phones it is probably in a better position than my large Galaxy S25 Ulta.

What I like the most about the mount is the cooling function. It actually gets cold and makes a nice cold spot on the back of the phone. This is important because the charging speed is very fast. Much faster than a typical surface mount charger. And at that speed, without cooling, the phone would overheat.

My wife's iPhone barely sticks when she has the case on, which is understandable. My phone has a magnetic case, so it sticks like glue. If I hit an extreme bump, sometimes the phone falls off. But that is rare. It is very tightly attached.

The company, @EveryAmp, is top notch. I did leave a review on another thread a year or so ago pointing out how the position of my phone was blocked by the steering wheel. They sent me a new version of the mount for no charge, and without me asking. Top notch. Buy with confidence.

The charging power is very high, and unless the USB cable is a high-power cable, it will burn out. I had this happen a couple of times before I got the high-powered one shown in the pictures. If you want the specifics regarding the one I got, just let me know.

Highly recommended. I use it every day.

I tried the Twraps phone mount, but it scratched up my dashboard during install or removal eating into the finish there, so I went a different direction. Guessing this is just how a press fit like the Twraps might be with small inconsistencies in Rivian production. :/ (Twraps stuff is usually so great!)

OffRoam mount

I went with this OffRoam mount.

Simple install clamping to the vents on the rear of the screen, 17mm ball so you can add anything you want. Or pop it off if you want a cleaner dash for a bit.

All metal. Incredibly nice.

Can mount on either side

That looks nice but it would be too low and cover too much of the screen for my taste. IMO it needs to be higher and more to the left, similar to the Everyamp one.

That’s why you can put any arm you want on it with any location ;)
