Just remember to set aside for gains tax should you sell, don’t want a rude owed $$$ awakening from the IRS at tax time.

Into the future! At some point I'll use the equity to buy one.
Few weeks ago I bought 1000 shares at $14.00 a share. To be fair the price dropped to about $12.65 in two days as not to brag, but the recent move up makes me feel better. Nice little trade thus far.
THis is my first post actually so I'll introduce myself as a very content happy 2019 Lexus LS500 owner with right at 60,000 miles on the odo. With an eye of the future and not an early EV adopter I a a patient investor and thought I'd have some fun with this.
If Rivian surges in price its likely due to it being quality product, service and standing on solid finanical footing. If not the cars themselvs wil depreciate badly making my investment not such a risk.
I am smittien with the R2 but not in the market anytime soon unless I can get a great deal on one. LIke for $14,000? LOL....
If this happens it will be. few years perhaps and not a straight line up.
Wish me luck!.
And good luck to those new R2 owenrs who are brave to be early on this new model!
That's great! I bought about 100 shares in 2022 for about $100.00/share. Still have them even though took a significant write off. Good luck!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Need not worry about my tax implicaitons.
If this thing hits $60 a share my tax liablity will be under $7,000.
Maybe its in my Roth IRA? I'd likely just look at the whole thing as a boost to my net worth and free up other resources to pay for the thing. By then Lease rates might be attractive and I'll just expense it thru my LLC, or even get a pre owned?
So many ways to look at it.
Maybe then we have an administration that will incentivize innovation in the space with credits again?
This is not for everyone nor am I advocating anyone should buy the stock.
EV technolgy is evolving rather quickly and I have avoided adoptiong for this reaosn.
Look at Fords admmission it got it wrong, and Honda taking massive losses and discontinuing the ZDX after just two years becuae it was built on a GM platform.
My Rivian purchase is a fun trade concept I hope pans out for many reasons. We can have fun right?

$60 per share?

Rivian will be on the R12 by the time their stock hits $60... and you might be able to actually purchase a 10+ year old R2 for $14K by then.
