Hi, I was looking for a reliable suction cup mount we could use with a 13” iPad Pro that sticks to the inside of the roof glass. We would be using this to stream videos while car camping, so the iPad would be overhead hanging down from the roof glass. It’s important that mount is completely reliable so the iPad doesn’t fall down and bash one of our faces in. Does anyone have a solution you have tried and can recommend? I trust this site more than the Amazon reviews. Thanks!

Appreciate the feedback so far. What we really want is to watch movies while laying down on our foam matresses inside the cargo area. So ideally the iPad would be hanging parallel to the roof glass. I do appreciate the advice against placing suction cup tension on the roof glass. I of all people should be paranoid about cracking it. Been there done that. I might look into an inexpensive LED projector that might work with a white matte static film I could apply to the inside of the roof glass.

These racks are amazing and hold anything. I assume the phone holder would work just as well as the racks.

I run a similar setup from RAM Mounts on my boat. Use a tablet as a chartplotter, and it's held up well. Everything from Gulf of Mexico to Lake Erie. Would likely work great for car camping as well.

Reading that you can live with is pointing down while you stare straight up, I'd recommend a Starlink mini mount, one that only holds it by the edges only, not the full box frame. They are available from many vendors of varying quality. I own one for my Starlink; it is very secure with four strong cups at the corners, and it should hold any tablet- or laptop-shaped device that fits within its dimensions. You just slide it close enough to overlap edges by 1/2" or so. It can hold the Starlink securely while driving rough roads, so it's more than enough for an iPad while parked. The iPad is thinner, so it might need some foam edging if you want to leave it in while driving to prevent rattling.

that is exactly what I was thinking. I’ll have to find a Starlink mount that doesn’t cover the face of the iPad like most I’ve seen on Amazon
