fw2026.15.0 (gen1) can t use amazon music anymore with new Rivian Assistant

The updated fw came today and it hit me that amazon music is not even available when rivian assistant is active. (Still other bugs on it like it randomly stops in the Middle of a sentence)

With rivian assistant off, alexa can be reactivated along with Amazon Music s minimalistic integration…fortunately. For now at least.

yep, Amazon Music was an Alexa feature - never a Rivian app. Perhaps they will add a native app in the future. I gave up on Amazon Music last year when one of the releases introduced unbearable buffering issues. But I would welcome a functional native Amazon Music app. When I finally gave up on Amazon Music, I just switched over to Tidal since I also have a Tidal subscription.

Workaround is to install Alexa on your phone. Play music over Bluetooth. You can enjoy both Amazon music and use Riv assistant.

Guess this is a "two steps forward, one back" situation. Wasn't happy when I discovered it today. Primary music source is Amazon. Hope they fix this...AI should be able to differentiate an ask to Alexa vs one to Hey Rivian.

Workaround is to install Alexa on your phone and then stream and use Bluetooth to the riv to play.

The problem is Alexa and Rivian Assistant do not coexist, you only get one or the other. So with the new Rivian Assistant enabled, there is no longer an Alexa to delegate to.

I use an Echo Auto in my R1S as I didn't subscribe to C+. Works fine, but uses BT audio.

I really want to be able to use some voice control to play music or podcasts etc. Tesla has really great voice integration, even 10 year old ones properly respond to voice commands "play pink floyd dark side of the moon", if its in their catalog. I have a music subscription, google music, I wish I could access that through the rivian ai. I did try things like "tell me about <some fact>". It did a great job when I asked some math classic questions.
