I got the update notification (gen2, connect+ subscription, autonomy-paid), update is tonight - but truck is in service station for a minor work. .

wish the assistant worked through my app “hey rivian, find a way to unlock the service station gates, pick me up so we can chat up a conversation, and then you can go right back before morning and they won’t know a thing!”

You do not need to turn it off just don’t turn it on.

So......how exactly does that work?

Don't say the word Rivian in the truck ever again? My phone was supposed to only "wake up" when you say "Hey Google" but still misfired for a long time whenever I would say I googled something in conversation.

There's gotta be a "Don't listen to every word I'm saying while waiting for a wake up call " setting, right?

Or am I just forced into accepting the feature or not taking the update?!?

This video covers most items. As you will see there are some issues but I’m sure Rivian will fix them in time. Also, someone asked about submitting bug reports to Rivian. Jose provides an example of how to do this via Rivian Assistant.

Great video, @RivianTrackr! Now I know what to expect.

Jose made a comment at the end about AA and Apple CP. I think Rivian's approach is better than anything Google or Apple can offer with their infotainment layer on top of a car's operating system. RA can be integrated with everything in the truck. Everything. AA/CP cannot. While I like AA, and loved it in my Mach-e, this is better. Much better, IMO.

You have to wait for the update, just like normal.

What does, "rolling out to all compatible Rivian Gen 1 owners who subscribe to Connect+" mean? How does one know if their two year old truck is incompatible and obsolete?

Precisely the question I have regarding my 2024 R1T. I'm not a Connect + subscriber but this could get me to pony up for the service . . .

Blame Google for that. They lock down RCS to only the Google messaging app. No 3rd party is allowed access.

No it is not initially enabled, you need to go in and set it up after the OTA is applied. If you do not set it up it is not active.
