I joined the half shaft club. 2023 R1S, quad. Went in for three year brake fluid flush and inspection mentioned the noises and clunky low speed feel. Front shafts and hubs replaced. G version shafts if I read that invoice correctly.

I bought mine for two use cases. Connecting at places without good cell/broadband and in my small plane. They torpedoed the small plane options.

They recently shut off in motion use for the standby plan. Amazing tech. I’m using it now. Prepare for plans to change every few months. Ask the guy general aviation crowd how it’s worked out.

Too easy not to plug in nightly. I don't have to think about it in the morning. Ditto. If I'm sitting in my warm house, and we decide to ski or go on some short fused road trip the next day, I pull out my phone and turn up to charge limit for the trip. No need to go out in my bunny slippers...

What did Tesla do with the Model S when the 3 hit the market? I see this as a comparable situation for Rivian.
