  1. Who's holding out for Standard AWD R2?

Not sure there is additional cost, they need the standard configuration to get into the forties. Essentially they are just putting the premium drive train in the standard model. Will they make that model, probably not but having it in the configuration has people looking at AWD and may push...
  2. Who's holding out for Standard AWD R2?

They don’t need to sell it just have it available. There are magic numbers that trigger people. If the first number in the basic trim is above 5, there are a lot of people that will not even look at the vehicle. If it is a 4 more people will at least look at it, they then might decide they want...
  3. Wiper only works in Storm setting

This is on your R2 correct? You should open a service ticket, that does not seem to be software related. We live in SoCal so probably will not see rain for a few more months. I just went out and tested what I can on ours. Pushing in the top button on the end of the stalk will do a single...
  4. Adapter info: for CCS superchargers

Tesla still has quite a few Magic Dock stations, some of their V4 stations are Magic Dock as well. You can look at the Tesla Supercharger map and filter on the 3 types of chargers. 1) Lightening bolt is Tesla only 2) NACS image is open to others with required adapter 3) Lightening bolt...
  5. Adapter info: for CCS superchargers

The $50 one is for level2 charging, like what you will install at your house or some hotels, it is J1772-J3400. The $200 one is what you would use for DCFC like at Electrify America locations. I have the link there for A2Z CCS1 to NACS as well, less expensive than the Rivian option but still...
  6. Adapter info: for CCS superchargers

You can get this one from A2Z or you can order these from Rivian when you build the order for your R2. They are others out there but these are solid adapters.
  7. Rivian Tells Some R2 Owners To Pause DC Fast Charging

I have a 2016 Model S and a 2022 R1S, to me they have both been very reliable. They both have had some small issues but neither has left me stranded. From my perspective they are as reliable as any of the ICE vehicles I’ve owned over the last 50 years.
  8. RivianTrackr: "Stop Buying EVs for the Trip You Take Twice a Year"

I’ve had my R1S 3.5 years, been on 4 road trips between 6k and 7.7k miles. Getting ready to take another 7k mile trip middle of next month. Long EV road trips are not an issue for me. If time is a driver on a trip I just fly.
  9. OS2 Arriving on R1 with 2026.31 OTA

What about the 8 inch Floppy disk? It could hold an (at the time) amazing 80 kb of data.
  10. Rivian Tells Some R2 Owners To Pause DC Fast Charging

Now that they have identified a potential issue they will not deliver a vehicle before it clears that evaluation. I have vin 1915, right in the middle of that range, have not had any issues charging. I have not been contacted about an issue either so not sure how accurate that Reddit post is...
  11. New California law regarding replacement tires [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

The price increase will not be related to the testing requirements. It will be related to the material and design cost in order to make the tires be able to pass the requirements. As I indicated in an earlier post the Michelin Defenders I purchased already meet the standards but it is not...
  12. OS2 Arriving on R1 with 2026.31 OTA

Just to adjust your expectations for update releases in general. Most company IT departments have policies in place for internal and external patch releases where most systems will lag behind a test group. This is to ensure there are no issues with items critical to their business that the...
  13. OS2 Arriving on R1 with 2026.31 OTA

R2 has the clock and Temp on the driver display top right, hard to see based on how the steering wheel might be positioned. However they also have them on the top of the left side dock on the center screen. For those wanting the list of updates, we have not seen these because it is not released...
  14. R2 overhead window switches: backwards?

People are obviously missing the benefit of how those overhead switches work. If you roll the vehicle and it is sitting on the roof they will be perfect. 😉
