  1. Tested! R2 vs. our favorite EV SUVs: Model Y, Ioniq 5, Mach-E --by MotorTrend

It’s not the publication’s fault everyone is obsessed with HP, 0-60, and launch mode. Look at Rivian’s own focus on these things on the R1 and R2. The performance model is seemingly designed to target track use instead of desert running or rock climbing or any “adventure” performance.
  2. New R2 Purchase w/ 700 Miles Road Trip Thoughts

However, through the magic of crack sweat evaporation, room temp air may still be cooling in practice!
  3. Skid pad testing numbers for R2?

I guess it wasn’t in the article I was thinking about, it’s here https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2027-rivian-r2-performance-launch-package-fully-tested.html But looks like mt got worse numbers...
  4. Skid pad testing numbers for R2?

Pretty sure Edmund’s posted 0.84 on 21s in their recent comparo
  5. New R2 Purchase w/ 700 Miles Road Trip Thoughts

I don't think this is true, many other brands offer multiple capacities without issue in this category. From what I understand BMW is having no issue selling their manufacturing capacity of 70-75k ix3s and yet are still offering the 40 & 50 globally (and 30?). Volvo with the 10 and 12 (and 6?)...
  6. The 330-Mile Question: Where Are the 260+ Mile R2 Drives?

Wait, you’re saying 9” of ground clearance and 2-box shape doesn’t match the cruising efficiency of a low-slung, perfectly tapered turd? Remarkable!
  7. Growing efficiency Gap: R2 w/ 21" vs. 20" tire sets

So you’re saying Trailseeker has the same 70MPH efficiency as a MY juniper AWD?
  8. We Just Got the 2026 Model Y Performance - Thoughts and Wishlist for R2 Tri

MYP and R2P/LE are more or less “direct competitors;” tri-motor anything in this size class has no competition, and I wouldn’t expect it to be priced in-line with dual-motor performance trims, it will certainly be above, and likely not trivially so..
  9. R2 overhead window switches: backwards?

Interestingly there are apparently no issues having the open and close buttons for sunroofs be push-operated. On my 4Runner: Push to open sunroof Push to close sunroof Push to open rear window Pull to close rear window
  10. R2 overhead window switches: backwards?

Not to mention, exactly the same as 4Runner rear window switches have always been. Same muscle movement to open all windows - push to open, pull to close.
  11. Lease or Buy R2 ?

If the lease numbers were at all attractive maybe it would make sense. Either way, plan for significant depreciation in the first couple years. So, don't buy if you might sell it in the first couple years. But it's also not a great lease option right now given the numbers. If I were...
  12. LE R2 No More Backlog

Nope. I'm still Nov-Dec window w/a 2025 reservation for LE in Seattle metro. But I'm OK waiting. Still not decided. My iX3 order is scheduled for early Oct production and my Slate order for Q4 production, so it'll be nice to have all 3 ready around the same time to make the decision!
  13. Backwoods Driving - Maps outside cell coverage

No but this feature has been around for years and years on AA/CP Oh wait, that's not helpful here...
  14. Cancelling my Pre-order, thoughts inside from test drive

Not only that but many of us have multiple cars from multiple manufacturers. It’s a lot more streamlined to have your phone as the single source of truth for all of your data and the common UX for infotainment. Versus managing multiple different parallel sources of truth that have differing...
  15. Update on R2 order invitation timing now in account

Sounds like the movement has been only CA
