  1. “They Don’t Have Jack Pucks! What Do I Do?” :(

Door handles, roof rails, R1S badging on the wrong side, just to name a few.
  2. My 3,378 mile trip from SF Bay Area to Canada and back

My dad grew up in Washougal. I lived in Newport, Beaverton, and Portland until I was transplanted to CA Bay Area in '85. Haven't been up to the PNW for a while since my Grandma, Dad, and an uncle passed away. Figured it was time to get up there while the other 3 uncles (oldest is 91) are...
  3. Added 12v outlet to R1T bed.

I have successfully installed a 12v outlet in the bed of the truck with no more issues with my BougeRV fridge. When linked in with the compressor, the voltage would drop below 9.6v and the fridge would error out. So I decided to run a wire all the way to the socket in the gear tunnel. Started...
  4. Favorite XPEL Stealth PPF installer in SF Bay Area?

Directly, with Dave, the owner. I even went back to him last year when someone tried to steal my bike and scratched up the PPF on the tailgate and one side panel.
  5. Favorite XPEL Stealth PPF installer in SF Bay Area?

I used Alphawerks in Santa Clara to add Xpel stealth to my R1T. www.alphawerksgarage.com
  6. Got my R2 today, and walk away question

If you have it garaged, you can leave it unlocked. If it's outdoors, set it to lock only. To unlock, you can use the app on your phone, use your watch, use the key fob or key card, or create a shortcut to tell Siri to unlock the car.
  7. Got my R2 today, and walk away question

You can set proximity settings to "lock only" at home. From the center screen, go to settings, access, proximity locking and look for "locking behavior at home." Set it to Lock Only.
  8. My 3,378 mile trip from SF Bay Area to Canada and back

Last month, we took a trip from the SF Bay Area up to Canada and back for almost 4 weeks. It all started when my twin brother invited us to go on a cruise to Alaska. It morphed into a 27-day, 3,378 mile trip! Charged at mostly Tesla SC’s since they were the cheapest. Got free charging while at...
  9. Added 12v outlet to R1T bed.

I pulled out the under-seat storage bin to see about accessing the back of the existing 12v socket in the Gear Tunnel. That is a no-go. Then I popped the socket out from the GT. Wires can be run from the new socket in the bed, along the harness in the GT opening and into the cavity for the...
  10. Added 12v outlet to R1T bed.

Same issue with my BougeRV fridge. A buddy of mine made the harness. Power measures 13.4v. When the fridge compressor tries to turn on, the voltage drops below 9.6v and low voltage alert E1 displays on the screen. Changed from max to eco and turned battery protection mode from high to low...
  11. VION Giveaway: Win R1S/R1T Roof Sunshades + Gray Option Available Now!

I tried out the VION Black Sunshades. Very simple to install with just 10 clips that slide between the headliner and glass. Another shade that I have used, I had to push the edges of the shade in between the glass and headliner and it had no support in the middle. That one would sag in the...
  12. Phantom Drain while on a cruise

Yes, '22 R1T Launch Edition. I don't experience too much drain. At home, proximity is set to lock only and no GG recording. I checked back on Electrafi and most of the overnight stays on my vacation where GG was active, I'd lose up to 1% per night. Expland that to a full day and it would be...
  13. Phantom Drain while on a cruise

I was worried about how much my SoC would drop while on an 8-day cruise out of Seattle to Alaska and back. I was quite surprised that when I returned, it had only dropped 2%!!! I parked in the cruise terminal's open lot with 84%. I didn't use any window shades for the windshield or roof. I...
