  1. Chicken Corners in Moab with R1T & Gladiator ?

We did. I haven't done the full video yet but the Rivian did great. Need to pick your lines well but it did well for sure... Subscribe to this channel. I have a couple of terabytes of off-road videos to go through... https://www.youtube.com/@HiCenteredOffRoad
  2. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

On my last tab400, I installed a soft start on the ac unit and ran it with an 1800 watt generator. I think the r1t is rated at 1500. I bet it would work. But can’t be terribly sure. It would be a good test.
  3. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

Actually it’s worse than useless. It’s damaging. Any non-geek who just wants to hop in their truck and go camping and trusts what the truck is telling them is going to end up stranded and be featured in a Fox News hit piece on why EVs suck. I can see the headline now… 100k EV truck strands a...
  4. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

ā€˜Agreed it was useless. And so was the estimate on nav. Off of the video I told Andy that the polish on the software is much more android and much less iPhone.
  5. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

Oh no. I hope I didn’t come off as upset. I love the questions. Especially the ones that make me think. And agree. But note that our calculation showed that the mi/kWh was largely correct. The calculations for how far you could go was WILDLY incorrect as it pretty much stuck with 2 mi/kWh. The...
  6. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

    ā€Can doā€ != ā€œWill doā€ ;)
  7. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

Thats what I am seeing as well when looking at the results from others. Basically towing with anything that blocks the wind independent of weight gets you about 1mi/kWh. Weight may make little difference. Length may make little difference. Key variables: - how much wind do you block - speed -...
  8. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

Apples to apples is tough in this situation given the huge number of variables. Please correct me if I am wrong since it’s been a hot minute since I saw their videos, but on their long trips I believe they are going significantly slower than 65. Usually 55 and… according to them… 10 miles an...
  9. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

So the height probably does make a big difference as we thought. It would be interesting to see a tab320 or a tagX and see if we could get 1.6...
  10. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

Yeah. The lack of a fast charger in Moab is an issue. We charged at the amazing Under Canvas resort which has l2 rivian chargers. And yeah, I’d love to get together when we get over there. Feel free to ping me when you head east.
  11. Results: nuCamp Tab400 Camper vs Rivian R1T Range Test

So we traversed I76 towing a Tab400 to see how far the Rivian R1T would take us… Now I’m curious to test smaller (shorter) campers…
  12. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

Just got done. The range test video will post tomorrow morning on this channel. It's a new channel so would really appreciate your feedback and a sub if you are interested. Both help me to get the word out and get better at this... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAABK4NJgAl2p22ja0K9u_A
  13. Range Test Towing a nuCamp Tab400

We did a range test tonight towing a Tab400 from nuCamp. I’ll put the video together and get results calculated over the next few days… Any guesses? Of course posting might be difficult since we’ll be on a 3 day overlanding trip in Southern and central Colorado ? update:
