I know a few of you brave owners have shipped Rivians to Hawaii from the mainland before a service center is officially open on any island. I would love to hear about your shipping process and island ownership experiences (good and bad) thus far. Please share some island trip reports, "truck stuff," and charging experiences as well.
For those waiting delivery directly to Hawaii, pleas share your estimated delivery dates, which would presumably (and hopefully) coincide with the opening of a Hawaiian Rivian Service Center.
Personally, I split my time between Phoenix, AZ and Kailua-Kona, HI. I'm on island about every 4-6 weeks. I've had an R1T on the mainland since 9/2022. I had planned to take delivery of an R1S directly on the Big Island in 2024, but I ran out of patience. I'm now taking delivery of an R1S in Phoenix in a few weeks. I plan to drive it around for a few months to make sure it's in good working order and address any service needs here. I then hope to ship it to Kona by the end of the year and join you other brave souls.
Really looking forward to seeing how the R1S handles Makalwena and Mana Road!
