Delivery was smooth and fast. Only issue at this point is without the service center or tech. They cannot inspect the vehicle so when titling paperwork arrives its you and DMV.
You get a temporary Illinois tag good for 90 days. Vehicle was spotless and could not find any defect, blemish or alignment issue —vehicle was perfect.

We were told that Rivian wouldn't send a vehicle here until there's a service station. We gave up waiting, called Rivian, and changed our order to pickup. Rivian brought the truck to Detroit, hubs drove up from his family Christmas vacation near Toledo, accepted the truck, and immediately had it picked up by the shipper (Montway/Matson). Truck arrived in HNL late January. We love it. If Rivian is shipping them to Hawaii now, does anyone know what the delivery cost is?

$1800 just to Oahu. Hopefully I can have them deliver the vehicle to Young Brothers without me having to take a vacation day and fly there just to accept delivery and drive it to the port. Will update when I get a delivery date.

Rivian will deliver your vehicle to Young Brothers if you give them the Third Party Authorization Form.

Just a quick photo of my R1S in Kona. Haven’t had much time for beach or mountain photos yet, but there’s always time for an after work beer

News on another Rivian forum, sounds like Rivians will be arriving on islands this coming Friday. Anyone else got any more info?

Hawaii Deliveries have begun!

Someone on Reddit posted they took delivery directly from Rivian in Oahu AND that their Guide said Mobile Service is officially being provided in Hawaii AND that the Oahu Service Center is supposed to open “in a few months.”

I parked my R1S at the Kona Lowe’s a couple days ago next to a Model X. The owner chatted me up for a few minutes. I gave him a quick tour and he said the really wanted to replace his Model X with an R1S. Hope I convinced him to pull the trigger!

They will be happy trading in their model X I just did that last Friday as the first delivery here on Oahu for my R1 S. Service center is gonna take a little longer than a few months as permit is still not final. Mobile service not official yet but they do fly in a tech as necessary for now delivery expert Justin Davis is here on Island now he’s the first Rivian employee permanently stationed here.

Do not see a SC happening. A few years ago there were job posting for what would be SC staff but they were pulled months later. Am betting at most we’ll see a tech with a lap top and FedEx account working out of an industrial park garage on Oahu. The Rivian silence and lack of commitment is more than sad.

Went by the delivery facility —it’s a small warehouse like place to the right of the Spa seller under sign that says TM Trading. can easily house a lot of Ss&Ts. Justin (the new hire HI delivery lead) and team from other SCs were setting up the basics before bringing the vehicles over from the port. “Can’t disclose” how many in this first batch, Friday 9AM—it’s showtime!

Pre-order pre-price increase here. I was offered a dual motor R1T Limestone with the white interior/dark ash wood at 20% ($69,280) discount Friday morning around 9:30am. The configuration sold out by about 4pm. I wonder when the next shipment arrives?

…and logged in Sunday morning and was offered a ‘24 Launch Edition Green, ocean coast/dark ash for $72k. Confirmed purchase and was told it’ll arrive Oahu mid/late April.😁🙌🏻

We just got our R1T last month, we were locked in at the old pricing from 2022. Took delivery from Rivian in Detroit just before Christmas, then immediately had the truck sent via Montway/Matson to Honolulu, drove it home in late January. So far so good!

Awsome. I'm a pre price hike reservation holder as well, but I'm gonna wait till Rivian has their service center open, take delivery on Oahu then ship it to Lanai. Hopefully by the end of the year!

Should work, RVN says my R1S will be delivered via the interim delivery site near airport by 30 March. Permits for SC still pending so thing late summer/end of year at least for that to open (former Eli cycles at 1603 Dillingham)

Wow, that soon! Keep us updated.
I just joined the Rivian Forum today and am reaching out to any or all of the "Kamaaina Rivian Members".

How do any of you that currently own a Rivian in Hawaii get them serviced, or have warranty / guarantee issues addressed with your vehicle?

I know a few of you brave owners have shipped Rivians to Hawaii from the mainland before a service center is officially open on any island. I would love to hear about your shipping process and island ownership experiences (good and bad) thus far. Please share some island trip reports, "truck stuff," and charging experiences as well.

For those waiting delivery directly to Hawaii, pleas share your estimated delivery dates, which would presumably (and hopefully) coincide with the opening of a Hawaiian Rivian Service Center.

Personally, I split my time between Phoenix, AZ and Kailua-Kona, HI. I'm on island about every 4-6 weeks. I've had an R1T on the mainland since 9/2022. I had planned to take delivery of an R1S directly on the Big Island in 2024, but I ran out of patience. I'm now taking delivery of an R1S in Phoenix in a few weeks. I plan to drive it around for a few months to make sure it's in good working order and address any service needs here. I then hope to ship it to Kona by the end of the year and join you other brave souls.

Really looking forward to seeing how the R1S handles Makalwena and Mana Road!

When I took delivery of my R1T in 9/2022 in Phoenix, my delivery specialist said her intention was to transfer to Hawaii. I'll have to see if I can find her contact information and see if she has any additional information.

These are great signs! Maybe they can poach some existing local Tesla techs to speed things up.
