I have sketched out an initial plan to drive across the Golden Road in northern Maine. I have some pieces I still need to equipped my truck with but I think that I’m pretty close to ready. Has anybody else taken their electric truck across?
My plan is to drive up the night before and camp at an RV ground that has 40 amp service. Charge up to 100% and then head out in the morning. I expect to use up about 20% of my battery crossing in June of either 2025 or 2026. The end of the road will be at the Canadian border which I intend to cross and charge in a small town about 20 miles west of the border.
I will take a long leisurely drive home from there (maybe two days long).
I plan to buy a hitch winch if I cannot find a better option before this summer.
I’d also like another team. Just in case things go terribly wrong.
I’m open to thoughts.
