Took it for a ride at URE NF in NC to see how it would do in some rocks. Did great - and definitely got my money's worth out of the sliders! They had quite a few scars :) Had to go slow and careful being out there by ourselves mostly.

A couple of questions, did you decrease air pressure before doing this? And what are your thoughts on the tires you’re running? Looks like a fun afternoon!

Yes - aired down to 30 psi. Tires are the Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascents (Load range E), and they did great. 30 psi seemed just about right with the 7400 lbs or so of the truck. I would run my old Tacoma at about 20 psi to get the same deflection.

Good point on vehicle weight v. pressure. This is the first EV truck I’ve ever owned, so I’m not sure I would’ve considered vehicle weight to tire pressure ratio. Although, full disclosure, most of the trails I’ve ever been on didn’t require airing down or anything aside from a trip up in the mountains in CO (did that in a prepared Wrangler years ago). Perhaps this summer I will take Sy Borg out for a nice trail ride. šŸ˜€

Also need to consider the 34" tire on a 20" wheel risks a bead popping if aired down too much. Not enough sidewall flex to keep the bead set when riding a ledge or rock at a high angle.
