From an SAE email I received today, unfortunately the WSJ link is behind a paywall.
Battery manufacturers are increasingly shifting focus to energy storage for data centers and utilities amid a stagnating electric vehicle market and policy changes under President Donald Trump. Companies such as Ford Motor, LG Energy Solution and Samsung SDI are repurposing factories originally intended for EV batteries to produce grid-scale batteries, often involving a change in battery chemistry from lithium-ion to lithium-iron phosphate.
I did also see SK laid off almost 1,000 workers from its Georgis factory, citing changes in the EV market, SK Battery America lays off nearly 1,000 workers at Commerce plant
