Swing and a miss this year?

Sad to say but this felt like a check the box moment. Maybe last years was so good, you just couldn't match it.

When it did work it was, well . . . Ok, not great. Bit of a non event.

Super happy we get this, but the bar has been set high. Lets hope next years improves.

If you're talking about Halloween mode, I quite liked this year's. The cool thing they did was allow it to work via the gear guard and automatically make exterior noises. That was a major hit when I was at my cousin's house, handing out Halloween candy. We parked my truck next to the table from which we were handing out candy, and so many people got scared or startled by the truck growling at them.

For that alone, this was the best year ever. The interior wasn't as impressive, but really, that was a parlor trick anyway, one that I'd use once to show people and then forget about it. This year's was actually valuable and an excellent advertisement for Rivian, given how many people walking past commented on it.

Or people have taken it for granted and expect too much. What was an unexpected delight has now become expected curriculum in minds of customers. Too much of a good thing makes it less special. Rivian should skip it for random years. Or, keep doing it the way their own families would enjoy and ignore the hecklers. It’s a bonus. Not something customers paid for and are entitled to.

For Gen 2 it had some cool features that we sad sack Gen 1 owners didn't get to enjoy, but overall I think it was just hard to compete with last year. Knight Rider AND Back to the Future in the same year? Hard to top that.

I still appreciate the effort. I loved the frog lock sound!

I enjoyed it this year! My son loved clicking the interior sounds and it seemed to work evertime I needed it to. I think 2 weeks is a perfect amount of time and Im excited for next year! Gobble lock sound next?! haha

Exactly. They set the bar high last year. I mean, they even reanimated Hasslehoff for goodness sake! Hard to beat.

This update proves that Google cast active and locked to rear display while vehicle is in motion will allow for better road trips with kids in 2nd row.

Grandkids loved watching it on the screen
But yes Gen1 not having the exterior effects of Gen2 lessened the overall appeal
Now on to Veterans Day and Thanksgiving

I was also disappointed in this year's Halloween special.
