I have a Travel trailer with 2 Air Conditioning units, we boondock camp often and have been able to do so pretty successfully using the Rivian R1T's 110V 15amp outlet to power us. The problem has been larger draw items do not work with the 15 amp from the R1T. So I purhcased the Delta Pro 3 and my plan was to use the DP3 to power the trailer AC units etc. I have the trailer connected to the 120v NEMA TT-30R, 30A connection on the side of the DP3. It successfully powers the trailer and I am able to operate 1 AC unit at a time, operating the second would only work with 50A. Which is fine. At home I am able to charge the DP3 unit with the standard 110v and operate the AC unit. I am able to charge the DP3 off the Rivian succesffuly and power the trailer with a small load (~130 W) my probel arises when I try to run the AC unit (1500w) the DP3 shutdowns and gives me a message to restart the unit with no devices plugged in. Is there any solution that would allow me to charge the DP3 from my R1T while powering the AC? I have received recomendations to disable Passthrough on the DP3 but this doesnt seem to be an option. Is there a solution anyone is aware of?

Convert your rivian AC output to DC and send it to your DP3 via its solar port.
After lots of trial and error, its what works for me

Here's the switching power supply that I use.

Might be able to do something similar with a right-sized 48v battery charger.
Something along the lines of this or this.

I think most ECOflow in pass through mode will allow 1800w even if you set a lower charging limit. So, you may have to charge up the battery to a higher state of charge than your “backup reserve” limit, then run the high draw items and then move your “backup reserve” limit higher to charge up the battery while using low draw items. Not the best solution unfortunately.

Exercise caution when using high-inrush devices with the Rivian’s 120V outlet. high inrush current can overwhelm the software breaker, blowing the fuse and if you have a Gen1 necessitating an HV battery drop for repair. I recommend purchasing an inrush meter to test what you are doing on a home outlet. If the inrush current exceeds 15 amps, avoid using the device. For example, an AC unit running at 12 amps may have an inrush of 20–30 amps.

I used that solution also. Works great.
I've also been reading about adding a 48v LiPo4 battery (whatever size you require for length of backup) and directly connecting it via the solar port.

That battery can then be recharged using the R1T outlet or a cheapo generator using a LiPO4 battery charger.

Cheapest way to add capacity to the DP3 and also eliminates risks to the Rivian.

@latros786 Would you mind sharing your wiring setup for this and any links to cables, plugs etc? I've been trying to get this working for a while with a Delta Pro. My R1T kills the trucks outlets every time I connect truck-->Delta Pro-->gen backup outlet to my home. The truck obviously doesn't like something about the setup so I'm wondering if this will resolve.

I use the smaller Delta Mini for the same purpose. I've never had a problem running my trailer's AC while the Delta is charging from my truck. I got the mini as it was the smallest/cheapest unit that had surge-capacity sufficient for my trailer's AC startup current. (13A. My Rivian's breaker trips at 12.1A.) Although even the mini has a surge of 15A, just to cover the case that a couple amps of load are happening while the AC starts up.

These are the parts I used. You should verify they are safe and appropriate for your application. The power supply gets pretty hot, so don't have it sitting on anything that might be damaged, and make sure it has air circulation.

You might also need to use a Neutral-Ground Bonding plug in one of the Delta Pro outlets to power appliances that expect a Neutral-Ground bond.

This happened to me! Rivian service had to drop hv battery to change fuse and 120v power supply. Be VERY careful pass though of DP3 Pro doesn't draw too much current and hurt the R1

I too have Ecoflow Delta Pro 3600 as a limited (5 circuits) emergency home backup and daytime solar to feed the same. Just bought the '23 R1T and plan to use the 120VAC outputs to supplement the existing home backup setup.

The AC/DC converter I use is an inline power brick limited to 500W and is a Bluetti T500 which sell for about $150 on amazon. https://a.co/d/2J63F99

Before using the R1T to charge the Delta Pro I tested the R1T outlets with a plug tester and found that the neutral and hot leads were crossed. This was true for the outlets in the bed, back seat, but curiously not the 120V outlet in the gear tunnel .... I then read about the RIT inverter as having a floating ground so it's normal that the tester would report the neutral and hot being crossed, but not sure why the gear tunnel would be different as I expect a single inverter supports all the outlets.

I had been planning to directly connect the RITs 120V outlet to the Delta Pro's AC input to get a bit more wattage input, but my furnace requires an earth ground, and by plugging the Delta Pros AC input to even a dead outlet (during an outage) provides that ground. So after reading t his chain and concerns about too much draw from the R1T's inverter, I'm planning on using the R1T >> Bluetti AC/DC converter to recharge the battery and provide a buffer to the earth grounding issue. Hope it works as planned.... Any of you electronics gurus see any glaring issues that I'm missing?? Tx
