Does anyone else experience the following problem?
Right after installing 2024.51.31, the R1S Gen 2 stopped automatically locking and unlocking the car on proximity, but I still could use the phone app to control the car remotely. I decided to re-pair the phone to see if it fixes the problem, but instead the phone cannot be paired at all. The app says to tap a button on car screen, and the car tries to connect to the phone, but never does.

I tried:
- car hard reboot
- phone reboot
- reinstalling Rivian app
- deleting app data and cache
- deleted the phone from registered keys in the app

Info:
- 2025 R1S Gen 2
- FW: 2024.51.31
- Android v14 (Samsung S22)
- no recent OS updates on the phone
- still can connect to car Bluetooth for multimedia
- phone still works perfectly as a key with my other car - Tesla

Rivian support scheduled a mobile service for me (6 weeks away), because all possible troubleshooting steps were already done.

I'm having the same issue on my R1T, but it started happening before I installed 2024.51.31. I installed the update to see if it resolved the issue.

It was at a service center for three weeks, and during that time I got a new phone. The day I picked it up, I attempted to add the phone as a key, but it wouldn't pair. All known troubleshooting steps have been attempted, and a mobile service appointment was scheduled. The service center called me the next day and said to stop by right away since I had just picked it up.

One of the techs there advised this happened to him because there are a max number of phones you can pair for security. Once this number has been reached, it blocks all new attempts to pair. They advised they couldn't fix this at the service center, and I'd have to call in to have the existing devices deleted on the back end.

I've been calling in every day trying to get this resolved, but haven't had any luck. They keep wanting to schedule a service appointment despite the service center stating they can't do anything. I'm waiting for a call back late Monday. I leave for a road trip Wednesday, and really hoping this can be resolved by then. The app is so gimped when the phone isn't added as a key.

Type of phone doesn't matter, I've tried to pair iPhones and Androids, all on the latest OS.

Anybody have a resolution on this? I'm having what seems to be the exact same issue. I'm not likely to keep track of my fob we'll enough to count on that as a key 🥴

Mobile service resolved the issue for me. Here are the notes from the invoice:

- Technician verified customer concern, Phone key was not set up and would not fully pair to the vehicle. Technician scanned for trouble codes and found the overhead console module was not programmed for vehicle. Technician ran the procedure to program the overhead console to the vehicle and was able to successfully pair the phone key. Vehicle operating without fault at this time.
