I removed a couple of the cross bars in the front so the main sunroof wouldn’t be quite as obstructed but don’t have any pics of them.

What is the width of the crossbars? I’m debating on keeping my CVT Pioneer or replacing that with a hardshell RTT that has a slightly smaller footprint.

Yes it comes with more loctite than you need. I’m glad I have a power ratchet that makes it much faster than hand turning.

The key to installing this is keep all bolts finger tight until everything is installed on the car. Then tighten up once everything you want installed is on. I also have 4 extra cross bars as I didn’t want to put too many on and I can always add them later.

I bought the front fairing wind seal extra but one came with my parts so I wouldn’t buy it extra.

I haven’t taken it out on the highway yet but I’m guessing the wind noise will be negligible as it was on my 4Runner but time will tell. Either way it is useful for me and not just about aesthetics especially with the glass roof

Cold I bug you for a measurement? I’m looking for the distance from the back of the rack to the rear of the fairing. Looking for loadale space.

Just to confirm you want to total length of the rack from the rear crossbar to the beginning of the fairing?

Hello @Nano and @Polar
I recently found your post and read through the informative thread.

Can either of you kindly share how tall the rack is? I'm curious the height from the top of the Rivian roof to the top of the rack? This will help me ensure my vehicle can still fit in my garage before purchasing.

Thank you

It adds just under 3 1/2 inches to the height of your S at the middle crossbar mounting point. This is also the peak of the roof on your R1S

It is lower than the OEM crossbars -

This is great info. Thank you for sharing the info.
It's surprising that it sits lower than the factory crossbars; which is good news to me.

FYI there is some wind noise from it but not bad at all. I’ve loaded all kinds of lumber, firewood, lawn chairs and angry children up there and it does great! 😊

I started researching Prinsu a bit more for roof rack and saw that there were some issues/complaints regarding mounting a rooftop tent. Anyone here with the Prinsu Pro use a rooftop tent--if so, how was your experience?

Taking on and off would be a royal pain! It is now a permanent part of the Rivian. I can’t imagine it would affect range that much and I use my roof rack pretty often hauling all kinds of things.

We have a Vevor hoist in the garage and lift everything off all together. Rooftop tent and the Rivian crossbars all come off in one piece. Good investment for versatility and seasonal configurations
