Gen 2 key fob. Anybody get it to work?

I got my Gen 2 fob today. I went through the pairing process easily enough and it said something about finalizing once the vehicle was connected to the internet (it was already).

The led blinks yellow constantly. It will stop after several minutes but starts again as soon as I pick it up. None of the buttons do anything. I just get a red LED when I press them. I know the fob is paired as it won't let me try to pair it again and it shows up as one of my keys. It also works when I hold it against the door handle to lock/unlock the vehicle.

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I have a Gen2 R1T and a Gen2 R1S. The key fob for R1T worked as it should, the key fob for my R1S is in the same state as you outlined above. I have a support ticket in with Rivian but I keep missing their calls. Will update if I learn anything.

What does your fob look like in the app? Does it have a splash of yellow like all the other keys or does it look like mine in my screenshot?

It's very frustrating. Rivian suggested I restart the vehicle. When that didn't work, they set an appointment for me on the 25th have it looked at. ??‍

There's no help online, probably because it's such a new item. I'd unpair and repair if that was an option but it doesn't seem to be and I can't figure out how to do a reset on the fob.

I am not a techy person, just followed the instructions and just worked. I paired it in the car using my phone. Sorry it’s not working out for you.

I have a theory (out of despair ?) that you may support … I paired mine when I was not within range of my S. So, while the FOB paired with the phone/app, it did not pair with the car. Thus, the orange blinks and red when pushed.

Can anybody having FOB issues relate? Were you out of range of your car with you paired your FOB?

I was standing right next to my R1S when I "paired" it. So that theory may not hold out. My theory was maybe because I had my mobile hotspot active when I paired. I know some people had problems using functions in the app while the hotspot was active and/or the vehicle appearing "offline" when hotspot was left on.

I was in my R1S when I paired the keyfob and no issues at all. Works really well

I had the same yellow light blinking issue. I walked up to the car, ensured it had wifi connection and then touched my key to the drivers door handle... And it miraculously started to work!! Now on the phone the fob icon has a yellow carabiner.

Mine has the yellow carabiner but still doesn’t work even to unlock the car. I saw Rivian Tracker’s video about the FOB - it has the same yellow blinking light but his works. ?
